It used to be something like double production cost. Nowadays it doesn't even really matter since a lot of movies don't break even until DVD sales. But I would think that around $250 million
may be enough to be close to breaking even assuming at least $50-75 million in promotion, which may be on the low end. But it also depends on how much each production company contributed to the movie.
For example, WB will make a decent profit on T4 just because they only paid $50 million + promotion for the domestic rights.
