She's fixed, and it's definitely pee. You know pee when you smell it. And it's awful. Also, are you sure it is pee and not the cat spraying it's territory? My mom has a bunch of cats and the ones that aren't fixed mark spots around the house, in the gym bag, etc.
They do figure it out remarkably fast, which I don't really understand. But that's not to say that they know that the litter box is the ONLY place for such actions.I don't know, when I first got kittens, we put a litterbox near them and they figured it out.
Maybe their mother showed them, though, I don't know.
Yeah, I have considered putting some kind of plastic tarp over it. A shower curtain sounds like a good idea! I actually just threw my old one away YESTERDAY!When we adopted a cat several years ago, she peed on our bed a couple of times. After we made sure the mattress was cleaned and sprayed with Nature's Miracle, we started keeping an old shower curtain on top of the bed when we weren't sleeping in it.
She quickly lost interest in urinating on the bed. Thank heavens!!
I have read to never EVER stick a dog or cat's nose in their urine or waste. They can get deadly fungus infections by doing that and it's not the best thing to do for the animal.
Take that cat for a ride.. 60mph out a car window will teach her..
Oh that's smoothe, Saturn0600. REAL smoothe. That's just cruelty to animals right there! No matter how much my cats drive me nuts, I'd never EVER throw them out a car window for something like that.

Saturn0660 did not say he was definitely going to throw her out of the window. Just hold her out of a window at 60 MPH for a brief time. There is a difference.
That being said, I wouldn't want to hold onto said cat while the drive was in progress, even if the cat's been declawed. I was holding the kitty on my lap and petting it when Mrs. SicOne turned the vacuum cleaner on on the other side of the room. Neosporin is good for those cuts.
