Star Wars uniform?

Supposedly "Vader" is announced as a cadet prior to the cadets leaving Starfleet Academy for he space dock. That's what people say, I never really heard it clearly.

Anyway, was the guy with the clipboard, who told Kirk he was unassigned, wearing a uniform that perhaps is a bit reminiscent of Vader's underlings' uniforms in Star Wars Episode 4, especially the famous collar from that movie?

I'm not sure if I am remembering right.

but they do look a little like hte Star Wars unis somewhat, i see where your going.


Besides, i was paying more attention to Paul McGillion, imagining him as the best Scotty since Jimmy rather than Simon Pegg, it was a moment i drifted off.

To be honest, as much as i liked Pegg, he sleepwalked through most of the movie.

It's really quite similar in cut to the cadet and instructor uniforms worn by others in the movie, and I think not reminiscent of the Vader underlings' uniforms particularly so much as it is reminiscent of uniforms in general. Not sure what you mean by the "famous collar", but the Barracks Officer's collar seems to me to be close to the same as those of the red and black Academy uniforms -- i.e., uniform.

It's called a Patrol Collar, and part of 19th/early 20th Century European uniform styling. That's what both these uniforms and the SW Imperial Officer uniforms are based on.
