The BK figurine toys were hit-and-miss in the likeness department in 2005 when EPISODE III was the big thing. Some of those toys looked nothing like the actors.

Even a week before the promo ended, I was informed that all of the Burger Kings in the Phoenix area were sold out of the Star Trek glasses. (I didn't ask about the toys. They looked like pretty crappy likenesses to me. The 2005 Star Wars ones were much more fun.)

Considering how well they've sold, I wonder if they'll do a 2nd series of glasses when the DVD comes out this fall. We still need McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, & Chekov in glass form.

That would be fantastic. I would especially like to add a McCoy glass to my collection. I was kind of surprised he was left out of this batch.

Are Kingons Canon?

Let's face it... anything we see on screen is canon. Therefore, do you accept the Kingons as part of your personal canon? I think they need a series of novels and a major role in the next movie.

Re: Are Kingons Canon?

Why wouldn't they be canon? They were mentioned in this movie, afterall.

On-screen in a Trek-branded movie or series, yes.

Therefore, do you accept the Kingons as part of your personal canon? I think they need a series of novels and a major role in the next movie.
I think we're pushing the limit on the number of comedy/parody threads currently running. Rather than close this, however, I'll merge it with the Burger King thread already active.

Erm....DS9 is jammed packed with Klingons. In DS9, you have Klingons hanging from the frakkin' rafters, for cryin' out loud.

And IRRC, the actor who played the best Klingon in DS9, and Trek in general, for that matter (Martok) wrote or co-wrote a book or two (or more - I don't read Trek novels) about his character and all of his Klingon friends. :p

Didja miss that?

I'm hoping BK puts more of these out when the movie hits DVD later this year.
