Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (DVD Soon)

Now...I got an opportunity last Christmas to read the script and thought it was awful and the movie would probably bomb at the box office. I didn't mind the casting decision of Kristen Kruek to play Chung-Li but to have the entire movie centre around her character seemed a bit bizzare. My confusion upon learning the DVD is out soon is...when the hell did this movie come out? I don't even remember seeing any trailers or TV spots for it (I'm being serious here not sarcastic) only Kristen doing a few interviews about the film and her experience making it (I wonder if she regrets making it now). Did anyone else see the film? It must've only had a short release and limited theatre run right? Also wasn't sure where to put the thread so if this is for Sci-Fi...mods feel free to move it there.

I wonder what scene Chris Klein will choose to submit for Oscar consideration. So many to choose from, it's not fair!

I figure they are trying to do (for some reason) with SF what Midway tried to do with MK Mythologies:Sub Zero

^ Wow, Uwe Boll's last theatrical movie beat it by $1 million worldwide!!!

Of course, his movie did also cost $60 million.

Capcom USA likes to say that the first SF movie is still making them money now, after all this time.
I kind of doubt that Chun-Li becomes the same camp classic though.

If kruek was naked in the film I would guarantee it would make 20 Mil ;)

Kreuk used a body double whenever we even saw underwear on Smallville - and given this is the CW, that wasn't very often towards the end there.

My guess is that Kristen Kruek was the highest profile talent they could get in to the pic, and they very well couldn't make her play Ryu. Probably the same reason why the first movie was about guile.

Bison is played by Sean Hawk from First Contact who was also recently on Desperate Housewives! I was looking forward to the movie until I made the mistake of reading the script. I don't even think that Street Fighter: The Legend of Chung-Li made it to theatres here...or I would have seen it.
