Need a Wii bit of advice

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Hi,
I just inherited a Wii, and I love it. It looks great, but now I want to get some games and I need help, akin to the following guidelines:

1. I like games that actually are made to be played on the Wii with it's unique controls rather than a game that's better on every other system
2. I more prefer to play a game for a while and that's it. I'm not much into games that you "save as you progress" and then "you merelly complete them. I also don't like games that seem so much like movies that they almost play themselves.

Thanks

There are a ton of games made just for the Wiimote gimmick that are total crap.

By your second requirement, I assume Zelda, Mario Galaxy and Metroid are out, which is unfortunate because they're the cream of the crop when it comes to the Wii's severely limited number of quality titles. I guess Punch-Out is a game you'd like. Mario Kart. Maybe MadWorld.

I'm not really sure what you mean by #2. I would get Mario Galaxy. It's my favorite game of all time and that's saying a lot.

Try the Rayman's Raving Rabbids series. The TV PARTY (#4) is awesome. Tons of bizarre mini-games that will wear your butt out, combined with some sick, twisted and truly demented humor. In one game you have to keep the perverted bunnies from opening the doors to their outhouses located on a public beach-while they are in them ah, "utilizing the facilities". In another, its your job to race Sonic-style across an island to deliver a package to a Rabbid. I say race because the package is ticking...

We won't talk about the Rabbids version of Rock Band-some things just shouldn't be done to music...

I just started playing raving Rabits it had me laughing all night.
I also like the supermario racing game but what ever you do DO NOT get cooking mamma.

My favorite game for the Wii is most definitely Kororinpa. It's a game that is only possible on the Wii. Here you can see how the game looks, but it doesn't do justice to the fun you can have with it. :)

Of the games we have, my daughters and I play Mario Kart, Excitebots and Raving Rabbids the most by far.

We really got into some of the games with the Wii fit but getting through all the menus to actually play is worse than on the other games.

Mercury Meltdown - similar Kororinpa but your maneuvering a blob of mercury that can break up into little pieces. Your scored on completing the maze with as much of the original mercury as possible. This shows a bunch of saved levels and is much harder than it looks.

Oh yeah, there's also WiiWare stuff.

The Telltale games are on there I think? Strongbad and Sam and Max.
There's also Lost Winds, My Life as a King and World of Goo.

That looks fun. It reminds me a little of a game I had on the spectrum back in the day (Can't remember what it was called) but I'll have to look this one up:)

Strongbad is, and Monkey Island will be. Sam and Max's assets were too big (while the others were designed with Wiiware's size limitations in mind), so it's only available at retail.

Yeah, both the remake and a new game it seems.

And, well, Sam and Max is worth picking up the disc for I think anyway.
