It would reward teams who are run sensibly and would make it easier for that next level of "big clubs" to compete - I'm thinking Everton, Aston Villa, Spurs etc without forcing them to turn to rich foreign owners.

Honestly, I hope he gets to coach out all 3 years of his contract and isn't uncerimoniously dumped at the first sign of failure - I don't think he'll bring a CL title in his first year, that's pretty unrealistic, even the 2nd year is too. But you can't deny his success in the competition, that's for sure, and he's coming to a squad that's made the semis in 5 of the past 6 years. Could be a perfect marriage, could end up with nothing, who knows. I'm probably more concerned to see what he does in the Prem though - it's more competitive than it's ever been and you can't afford any slip ups. I think he'll be better than Scolari though, that's for sure.

Pffft, you wankers living on that island don't realize how easy you have it and take your football for granted. If you're like me and others and living in a place where no one gives a toss about football and half a world away, you'd realize that you've got to work for it. You've got to pay incredibly high monthly fees for a channel that actually shows games, and even then there's no guarantee they show your club. You've got to sacrifice sleep and get up at 6am to watch it, while on that rock you live on you guys are going to the afternooners after jerking off all morning. Only the dingiest, most disgusting pubs show these games, so while we're eating food that's in violation of several health code regulations and flat beer from rusty pipes, you're sitting there eating your shrimp sandwhiches and drinking your white wine spritzers. And forget about seeing highlites on the television afterwards, they show women's volleyball instead.

So just remember, while you're living the easy life watching your failure of a team lose, there's people that are actually working hard to just see a tiny bit of football half a world away. Try to not take it for granted like you already do. We are the downtrodden, always remember that.

So yeah, you'll take lectures from me and you'll like it, Arsenal "fan". :)

    Another triumph! Well done.

Funny thing is, they're probably the worst team in the NHL but still don't have half that disgusting culture of failure that Arsenal actively promotes.

...so Villa spent all last summer fending off Liverpool, who would buy Barry for £18m and not a penny less.

This summer they're letting him talk to City a month before the window even opens... and City have offered £12m.

Someone want to explain to me how the hell Villa are making sense of this? And if he goes to City, after stating he wanted CL football, well then it is simply the most obscene, money-grabbing transfer since... well, the last one.

And don't even get me started on this managerial merry-go-round. Bruce is an idiot for going to Sunderland, and Martinez will get crucified if he goes to Celtic and doesn't win everything going in his first season despite having at best one season of Championship experience. Much better off staying down here and working his way up with the Jacks... after we've got promoted ahead of them of course. And where's Strachan going to end up? Wigan?!

I'm sure you'd feel the same way if he supported Arsenal, right? Or do you think that Arsenal doesn't have their fair share of "gloryhunters" and foreign fans too?

I'll start being impressed when some of these kids actually play for Chelsea. Except for John Terry, not a single current Chelsea player was trained in their youth teams, right?

Arsenal "fans" are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. :)

We aren't Arsenal and in the habit of putting petulant youngsters that are 18 years old with no experience on the pitch. They've proven that formula does not work, time and again. Eventually the crazy transfers will stop, players will leave, and these guys will get thier shot.

Just what I expected. Listen, if I wanted to engage in a pointless conversation, I'd PM a moderator. The value of your "opinion" went down past zero with the libelous "pedorat" comment.

Are you seriously suggesting Arsene Wenger wouldn't be happy living the rest of his days in Thailand?

Denial is a hell of a thing.

Huh? Are we talking politics here? I thought we were just talking about houses in Thailand with boy servants.

I will say though, I think I might be seeing why you support the youth academy so much.

While it is crystal clear Arsene Wenger's dirty socialist policies have rubbed off on you, I do sincerely hope that's the only rubbing off that has occured.

If you don't understand the problem with what you're saying then I'm not going to waste my time explaining it to you or reading anything else you have to say. Bye.

I knew some Arsenal "fans" were intellectually bankrupt, but didn't realize how profoundly so they were!

Bye then! There's only one club in London that matters!

I was hoping he'd stay at Villa.

You're the one who jumps from friendly football banter to libelous comments about paedophilia and then calls up your boy Hanson Bro to get yourself off the permaban that should have brought. But you keep on telling yourself that you behave like a civilised human being.

Is Arsene Wenger a member here? Jesus, hide the children!

If permabans are handed out to people for insulting (or telling the truth about) personalities in showbiz, sports, etc. there wouldn't be anyone here posting. Well done though.

    At least I'm not deceptive!
