Spot the Trapezoids in TOS

My 10 year old son, a TOS fan :), said, "There sure are a lot of trapezoids in Star Trek." We "rewound" the DVD a bit and by golly, he's right. In the Ent, on costumes, sets, etc.

I am tired of reading arguments in the STXI forum so I thought I'd offer something more fun, maybe: Spot the trapezoids in TOS.

Here's one to start: the danger alert on the nav. console. What others can you think of/remember?

By Any Other Name

Most of the crew turned into dodecahedrons.

No trapezoids there; the faces of those blocks were alternating squares and triangles. And I think they have 14 sides, not 12, so they aren't dodecahedrons. I guess that would be an irregular tetradecahedron, though I could swear I've read another name mentioned for them.

Hmm, the black cushions on the backs of the bridge chairs are almost trapezoidal.

^Which is more of a vernacular name than a formal geometrical designation. I'll stick with "irregular tetradecahedron."

And some say Star Trek isn't educational! Look at all this mathematics discussion!

Actually the "yoeman's clipboard thingy" (early PADD?) is kind of trapezoidal from the side.

^In that same image, the front panel of the monitor base in the lower left is a trapezoid (and presumably of the monitor at Spock's desk too). Also the support frame for the desk is trapezoidal in shape.
