This is very good news to me. I was extremely pleased with the film, and I found it to be good Star Trek and a good science fiction movie on its own. I'm happy that it's doing well, and I certainly hope that this film inspires a spark of popularity in the franchise in general, and hope that the next movie, should there be one, is just as good. I am enjoying every bit of this while it lasts, because surely Transformers will best Trek this summer. But this is GREAT stuff, who would have ever thought a Trek film, usually topping off at around a domestic gross of $70-80 million, would do this good?

That said, I don't know of anything coming up, bar maybe T4 or Transformers 2 or possibly Up, that might come close.

A couple of years back, there was a cook here at the hotel from Louisianna. When one of the college basketball teams won a championship, he came into work with a brand new ball cap, hollerin' about how "we" won.

My boss asked him, "Which position did you play?"
