Chant of the week from the Emirates: Eboue, woaaaaaaaaaooh Eboue, woaaaaaaaaaooh He comes from Africa! He's better than Kaka! Eboue, woaaaaaaaaaooh
An oldie but a goldie that one, isn't it? I'm glad Newcastle went down - I know Hull are arseholes and everything, but man I'd rather get to see one of the 'big' boys go down, and I can go see them next season. Anyway, I don't want the permatan ruining the look of our new stadium just yet - let us grow into it for a season first. Thoroughly good ending to a thoroughly good and open (everywhere except the top) PL season. Fulham in Europe - who'd have predicted that? I had them about 11th, nowhere near relegation, but Hodgson really has done them wonders. Pulis and Moyes have done amazingly this season too.
I'll be laughing like a drain for much of the summer, but come August, I'll rather have the black and white circus in the league than Hull. As Joe Kinnear would say, Phil Brown is a cunt. I'm feeling quite smug that Fulham have done as well as I thought, despite people (Fulham fans, mostly) telling me they would go down this season. Though to be fair, there has been precious little quality in the middle of the table.
Here's something interesting - some of our predictions before the first PL balls were kicked http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=50336&page=20 I'm quite chuffed I got three teams in the right position... but man were we all suckered by Portsmouth or what?
I got the top 4 right just in the wrong order I blame Redknapp for my Pompey predection I was close with West Ham but got fuck all right . next year already got Hull/Wigan and winner of Playoff for my 3 going down.
Sadly not - that montage was brilliant though. Unfortunately MotD is one of very few things that's nigh-on impossible to find online, so it'll be very difficult to find out what the music was. Hopefully Burnley will go up today, but I fear it's going to be one game too many for them. I think they've only played fewer games than the Big Four, which for a Championship side is pretty astonishing. Hopefully they'll go up and take revenge on Spurs...
Apparently not so difficult. I have used the form at the bottom of the page, so we'll see what they say.
I'd be worried if I was Burnley, the Football League, Mike Dean or anyone associated with Sheffield United not being promoted. They'll sue!
Wow. I would never have even considered such a thing. I'm really happy for Burnley. And Elliot's goal was absolutely superb. More of those next year please!
Entertaining game in its way. A whole lot of running, ton of honest effort, some lack of quality, and one really nice strike. I like what I saw of Burnley during their cup runs, so good luck to them staying up. I also couldn't help but contrast the look of pure (and well deserved) joy on their fans faces compared to the look they will have most of next season.
I dunno, Stoke fans haven't had a bad season, Hull fans had half a happy season at least and at least the Brom fans seemed happy they were playing decent football... Of course part of me wants Burnley to get 10 points all season but that's for purley selfish reasons (And I'd rather it was Brum)
Stoke are one of those sides where I separate the fans from the team. The fans are f***ing amazing. Every time we scored on Sunday they just got louder. What you probably didn't see on TV this weekend, though, was how much time wasting was going on. Even at 4-1 down every throw-in in their half was going back to Sorensen. van Persie walked over to him when he was about to take a goal kick and seemed to point at the Stoke fans at one point. I can understand that they were getting thrashed and they didn't want it to get any worse but their supporters deserved a bit more than that.
