The Kelvin Sets looked better than the ones on Enterprise!

Am I the only person who thinks they did a better job on the Kelvin than the Enterprise? As much as I like the movie it is kind of sad to see the Enterprise get outkewled by the Kelvin. I really hope they improve the sets for the next movie. I also hope they ditch the pajama outfits. Maybe we could see updated versions of the red movie outfits from the movies. That or all black armour suits like in the new "GiJoe" movies. That would go over well with the fans I suspect. :)

Yes I preferred the Kelvin sets to the Enterprise sets.

Yes I'd like to see updated uniforms.

NO to any variation of those red TWOK-type monkey suits, and obviously NO to G.I. Joe type armor.

Kinda hoping the individual who came up with the red uniforms was on Vulcan at the time of Nero's visit.

Come to think of it, that's going to be my desire for so many individuals...

No on all counts.

Well I was just joking on the black armour outfits. I would still like to see them upgrade the sets and uniforms. Actually the sickbay set was okay but everything else should be improved. As for uniforms I see no reason for them to not re-image the red uniforms from the movies. They were the best Starfleet outfits we have ever seen. I'm kind of curious as well to how they would change them and update them yet still keep the same feel that they had.

I liked the Kelvin interiors. Didn't quite understand the need for plastic sheeting, during Robau's walk through to his shuttle ride. The last TV series did a better job of that, with a claustrophobic launch bay and low tech airlocks.

I absolutely loathed the choice of uniforms. Obviously influenced by the 24th Century, both in tight-fit look and the bland colouring of Voyager's turtlenecks. I wish they had just reused some Enterprise NX flightsuits. Maybe adding dark red and a sand colour to the range already seen, electric blue and the darker indigo. A strange decision, considering the sets seem to be inspired by the NX-01's "submarine in space" look. Why not riff off their practical looking overalls too?

I agree the Kelvin looked better...

I disagree about the pajama uniforms...It never even crossed my mind that they look like pj's...I guess because to me they don't. I like the "new" uniforms...this is a reboot of Trek the original..not the movie et al...so they are appropriate. And even if they were PJ's...I think that would be very comfortable attire to be clad in while saving the world...

The Kelvin bridge looked more like the bridges from the TOS movies, which I thought was cool.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really never liked the movie uniforms all that much. That stiff militaristic look suited Nick Meyer and Harve Bennet's version of Star Trek, but not so much Gene Roddenberry's version. And I just like the primary colors.

The Kelvin outfits looked like a bit of a Forbidden Planet riff among other things.

Yeah, since the uniforms they wear on the Enterprise were pretty much the only things they left largely the same it was only 'logical' to have the uniforms from the Kelvin-era look like something from the 50s. It's a nice retro touch and a nod to the fans who would prefer a genuine 50s look for anything that happens before Kirk's missions.

I read this time and again. How this film captures the flavour of 50's sci fi in a way Enterprise did not. The Kelvin uniforms being the current case in point.

Anyone care to convince me? I just see some future/alternate TNG era top. I've seen my fair share of classic films including B-movies (Forbidden Planet among them) and still don't see it, not at all.

The Kelvin uniforms looked like re-dyed and altered TNG jumpsuits. Also, I've only seen the film twice so I'm not completely sure, but, did anyone else think that parts of the Kelvin bridge set were re-dressed portions of the Enterprise E bridge? Some of the walls just looked kinda familiar.

I never care to convince anyone of anything. That said, the apparently somewhat padded yoke, the color palette and the belts did not look anything like TNG to me, but somewhat resemble Forbidden Planet - not real closely, but moreso than later Trek outfits.

I liked the fact that the uniforms on Star Trek Enterprise had visible zippers and pockets and looked more like actual clothing than most Trek costumes, but I don't miss them a bit.

None of that is so.
