The survey I opened about pirating ST11 is complete. My target number was 100 and I've collected all the responses (thank you all very much). I will parse the data over the next few days, but the basic data is as follows:

Question 1: Have you pirated songs from the internet before?
    Yes: 70%
    No: 30%

Question 2: Have you pirated movies from the internet before?
    Yes: 61%
    No: 39%

Question 3: Have you pirated Star Trek media from the internet (excluding the new movie)?
    Yes: 45%
    No: 55%

Question 4: Have you pirated the new Star Trek movie?
    Yes: 34%
    No: 66%

Again, thank you all for participating and I'll be back with more of a breakdown soon.

Members: Please don't come in and discuss the issue. I don't want you to give the mods an excuse.

Mods: I still can't PM anyone about anything. I would still post the data myself to the public forum. Please don't continue to close threads. And for Pete's sake, this isn't spam.

What is the point of your survey? And how was it conducted?

Yes, the Trek XI forum was just crying out for a poll on who has downloaded music.

The point of this is to antagonise the forum's owners who've closed 3-4 of his threads, prompting him to cry "free speech" like a petulant child, evidently not understanding that these are their forums, and they'll administer them however and whenever the fuck they want to, without his prior approval.

No, spam is posting the same thing again (and again and again) when asked not to.

    Closing Thread #1, Akiraprise said:
    (emphasis mine)

The upshot of this is that he indicated that he would be willing to add the poll results to the end of the original thread when the poll was completed. If you do not have PM capability, other means exist.

In closing Thread #2, I said:
This should have reinforced the idea that starting a new thread to replace the closed one was not the right course of action. Apparently it did not.

In closing Thread #3, Akiraprise said these things:
This is twice now he's told you that he would be willing to add your poll results to the original thread and that starting new threads is not the way to go.

So you started a new (pretty much over-the-top) thread...
...and got a warning for it, exactly as he had said would happen.

Now, since Akiraprise is not here at the moment, I will add the results of your poll to the original thread, as he promised he would. I'll even bump it a couple of times so that others may read the results.

I will hold off on taking any further action until I've had a chance to speak with him, bit in starting yet another new thread, you've left yourself open to another possible spamming warning. To reiterate: spam is not only necessarily the content itself, but the repeated posting of something when asked by a member of board staff not to do so. This you have done.

Thread closed. Please do not start another on this topic.
