as you are facing them, engage warp drive. bye bye ship. bye bye Borg.

easy peasy lemon squeezy

Not necessarily. It's possible that the cube can generate enough energy to counter the energy produced by the warping ship, destroying the ship and saving the cube.

I did always wonder why they didn't just attach a warp drive to an asteroid and give it a hurl.

I suppose that may fall into the category of "subspace weapons" which are banned....

against.. proper governments and stuff.. not against the borg.. just get a Jack Bauer type.. who will do what needs doing

I'd like to point out that a Borg cube is capable of generating enough energy to achieve transwarp velocities. It is probably therefore able to generate more than enough energy to overcome the kinetic energy of a starship moving at warp. The tactic would probably work a few times and then be useless, if it worked at all.

If you really wanna see how to handle the Borg? Read the Destiny trilogy by David Mack.

I always wondered why they couldn't disrupt the hive mind with some kind of subspace interference or something. If the network goes down at work everything stops. The effect on the borg should be devastating.

I'm fairly certain that a subspace network capable of instantly and simultaneously connecting and controlling the minds of trillions of sentient entities across an entire galaxy would probably be too powerful for the Federation, which is of course thousands of years less technologically advanced than the Borg, to disrupt.

Perhaps instead of planting the command "Sleep" into the hive mind, Data should have tried something like "Logic is little tweeting bird chirping in meadow. Logic is wreath of pretty flowers that smell bad."

The problem with trying to "Kirk" them -- "Norman, coordinate!" -- is that the Borg are not merely computers, and are therefore presumably capable of recognizing and disregarding irrational information.

if the Borg have a enough power to survive the impact from a starship travelling at Warp I'm Santa Clause's fair godmother.

^ To ensure the scientific validity of this concept we need to give hallucinogens to a non-drone control subject.
I volunteer.

i don't know about this. i'm going with sci on this topic. that book he recommends sounds interesting also. i don't think the borg can be so easily neutralized.
