Star Trek - $43M 2nd Weekend - Domestic $148M - Global at $218 M

Re: Star Trek - $43M 2nd Weekend - Domestic $148M - Global Nears $200M

Great numbers for the weekend. I'm hoping the movie makes it to at least 200 million for its domestic theatrical run.

Amazing! So its $216 mill worldwide, with a possibility of $2-3 million more than that based on last week's numbers. So almost $220 million regardless! I predicted a $260 million total!!

RAMA

Due to this weekend kicking ass, I'm upping my final domestic box office gross prediction to 265 million, up from 237.

I'm waiting for the "Star Trek XI: What Went Wrong" thread.

Re: Star Trek - $43M 2nd Weekend - Domestic $148M - Global Nears $200M

It seems to be doing a few million less than Iron Man, so I could see the final domestic being 250m. Never thought I'd see a Trek film like this.

So is the movie a flop or not?

it's a FLOP!! oh teh noes!!!!*!%*!^!!

Re: Star Trek - $43M 2nd Weekend - Domestic $148M - Global Nears $200M

It didn't make up it's entire budget in the opening weekend like all good movies do. It's a flop. The franchise is dead. We shouldn't have tried to expand the audience. PANDER TO THE BASE!!!

At least this shows that Paramount's belief in Star Trek was well-placed.

True, and don't forget that they spent a trillion dollars on the advertising. And they are not going to sell any DVD/Blu-ray disks since nobody liked the movie.

Yeah its a FLOP

They should've made an Enterprise or another TNG movie.

Or save money and just show the ENT pilot in the movie theaters.

I'm a pretty BIG ENTERPRISE fan, but even I know a ENTERPRISE movie would not make more then $5 million in it's ENTIRE run!:(

I think you're being a bit optimistic there dude.

It'd get about 2 million and 1.5 million would be from fans of Quantum Leap.

Though if they put in the line "OH BOY!" then it'd get an extra few million.

Well clearly they screwed up, they should have made that TNG/DS9 crossover movie that the public was clamoring for. ;)
