Eurovision 2009

The ISS???? I'm glad we don't have anything better to do with our billions-of-dollars space program than this?

OK, I'm being cynical. It was pretty cool.

That would be entertaining.

Graham Norton hasnt dont that bad this year, still miss Wogan

I have to say there were an astounding number of entries this year that wouldn't make me automatically change the radio station.

Wierd interval act!

I didn't vote (I never do - too stingy). But I would have voted for Turkey I think. Mind, the reason I liked the entry was because it was decidedly Uneuropean.

Looks like I picked the wrong week for my net connection to go down during a local storm...

Overall a better selection of entries than last year. :bolian: Turkey of course caught my eye. Again. ;) Norway's much-vaunted entry was... different but interesting. :)

UK 's entry was very good. A bit jarring to see Lord Lloyd-Webber in the green room among the Eurodisco folk and suchlike. Incidentally I agree with Lloyd-Webber's assessment of which entries were the better ones. :wtf:

As for Germany.... oh no. :guffaw:

There's still a fair bit of block voting, but there always was. Back when I was kid the Scandanavian countries all voted for each other.

Looks like this has gone to Norway tonight. The question is whether we make the top three.

Spain and Albania are so deserving of their last places. Bah!

I'm pleasantly surprised for France and the UK! It's about time that a "big" country did well!

If you watch as a big camp bash it's a laugh but they very rarely discover or make any artists who make it big. ABBA aside nobody has made their names through it.
The voting is a joke ans so no band worth a bean is ever going to enter to end up looking silly. They should make it The European Union song contest after all the countries who pay for it are all EU members.
I don't know if its true but i heard the UK acts have to sign a doggy contract that stops them releasing songs for so long after the show.
Anyone here know if its true:confused:

^^ Or is it just that they're so $hit that no one wants to release them?

Norway deservedly out in front. Shame for Sweden and Portugal though.

They've broken through the 300 mark now.

It's Norway's title this year. Most points ever scored by a country. :)

Norway is a classic winner. The song is camp. The singer looks like a hobbit. and it's sure to be a one miss wonder.
Norton was a great host I like all the cutting remarks and his political coments about the heavy handed Russian police.
The UK song (co written ofcourse by Diane (Faith of The Heart) Warren and Andrew Lord-Webber, was ok as a Eurovision song too. Far from being my cup of tea but I never watch this for the music. Its comedy. As Wilde would say 'It's life imitating art'. It sooks like something from The Fast Show.
