Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (1989).

The infamous 1989 cult erotic animated Japanese horror fantasy thriller that spawned major controversy and the naughty tentacle genre. It's about this demon god where every 5000 years he appears in the body of a human man to create a world of chaos and harmony of humans, demons and man-beasts while a man-beast who is a half-breed human must fight many perverted demons in tokyo while looking for the Overfiend.

It's very nasty, sexually explicit and gory as hell with scenes of rape, murder, graphic sex, bisexuality, mutilation, exploding heads, tentacle naughty doings, masturbation and every excess around. It makes "Heavy Metal" look like "Hellraiser".
 
I saw a bootleg of it when I was a little kid (six or so).

Not sure that was the smartest move on the part of my babysitter.

Ah well. I think I turned out okay.
 
Got it as a joke "present" way back.

A friend and me were surfing the net.. back in the early 90s that was quite the new thing and very exciting and honest to god (without trying) somehow we came across anime sex and tentacle sex.

I was blown away that such a thing even existed.. really astonished. Well.. my friends used this as an excuse to get this video for me in a sexshop.
 
Don't know how long the duration is supposed to be but when it was released over here I'm sure all the necessary edits had it down to a run time of about 25 minutes by the time the BBFC had done with it! :lol:

I saw this when I was in High School. It was an edited version, so I didn't see what was so bad about it. After I heard about the real version, I was like WTF?

This pretty much created the whole "Hentai" genre. The tragic thing is this movie could have been decent without the needless rape-sex(which again I didn't see in the version I saw, thank goodness). Sadly there's even more fucked up and twisted Anime Porn out there apparently. Who gets off on this shit?
 
Haven't seen it but I can say judging by the description that I don't want to. Sounds like it has a lot of elements I dislike in the ero anime genre. There's way better hentai titles out there for you to watch than that one, that I can say. Not really a big fan of the stuff but I have seen several exceptional ones.
 
Censored Urotsukidoji sounds like when they show Heavy Metal on regular TV here in the states and even the aliens snorting Plutonium Nyborg to get high gets cut. In other words, what's the point?

Japanese culture does have something where rape features in a lot of their "erotic" media. Also, in Japanese erotica they always have (still? not sure...) had to pixilate any shots of actual genitalia which might explain the decision to have women violated by tentacles with eyeballs on them. Then again, tentacle porn dates back to at least 1820 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dream_of_the_Fisherman's_Wife - and probabaly NSFW;)).

If you'd bother to read up on some Japanese history, then you would know that the Japanese were F'd up LONG before the droping of those two Nuclear Bombs!

You forgot the bit that it makes close to zero sense, and is actually pretty boring, once you get over the cheap shock tactics. Colour me unimpressed.

It makes plenty of sense, at least the uncut series version does. All goes rather pear shaped after the first one though, the second is ok but the third and fourth are utter dreck.

By quite a lot. Basically, first they produced it in episode form and later reedited and cut it to create the Legend of the Overfiend (which was about 45 minutes shorter). The BBFC then cut it a bit more.

Pretty much the same happened for Legend of the Demon Womb except in that case the movie version wasn't cut, it was actually more complete than the episodic version. The BBFC cut it again though.

I saw this ages ago and had no idea that anime was literally hardcore. I've seen a few tentacle raping demon anime titles since. Sadly, I'm quite serious.

I don't think it had any particular effect on me, but I sure as hell wouldn't have done the same had I been the one in charge of a little kid.
