American Network Television Tanking Fast (ZOMG surprise).

The amazing renewal of Dollhouse at astonishingly low levels (2.75M viewers, 1.0 demo) is another indication of how network shows are cratering. Fox really doesn't think they can do any better on Friday nights. The solution is to slash the budget to the bone and limp along on what they can get from online viewing, ad-zap-happy DVR viewers and DVD sales - none of which are at all close to making up for horrible Nielsens. Welcome to the era of bargain-basement TV.

How many people are still using the rabbit ears these days? Most of the best shows are on cable channels anyway.

Wow, a flagship show on FOX is netting in dismal viewing figures in its first season comparable to what Enterprise had on the defunct UPN five years ago?! :wtf:

And while you can mock the CSI franchise for its formulaic nature, it's still a rather expensive to make, what with fairly big name regulars such as Sinise and Fisburne, in addition to numerous name guest stars, and practically movie level production values on a weekly basis. With that kind of resource input, it damn well has to have 15+ million views.

I do, to pull down an HD signal. :D

Got sick of endless price increases from Comcast and said screw 'em, I don't need cable as long as I have a fast internet connection.
