Two Words: "Simply Awesome"

Hello It's Me!

Listen I know many of you fancy yourselves as the keepers of the "Star Trek" Holy Grail but sometimes folks need to learn to just Flow with the tide. This movie was pretty darn awesome on so many levels...:techman:

1. The openning salvo with Daddy Kirk cowboying was poingant and very "Star Trekkie"...

2. Being re-introducted to our old friends for the 1st time was the next good thing...loved the intro to how they named "bones"...The nice twist on touching on Spock's battle with emotional control...

3. The action, the choice of actors to replace the old one and the potential to actually, after all these years boldly go back to where no one has ever gone before is just great...or dare I say...Awesome

"HIM"....:techman::techman::techman:

Your choice of two words is very accurate. What a treat it is to watch this movie. Star Trek is fun again!

The debate of whether or not this movie erases canon will continue until the end of time. Some will accept it as an alternate reality and some will not. I choose to accept what the writers conveyed, that this is a new alternate reality and the prime universe still exists.

And yes, this movie was awesome on oh so many levels! Believe me when I say it's 10x better the second time you see it!

yep. it's simply awesome! :)

I'm actually toying with the idea of going to see it all by myself. I want to savor it and watch for some stuff I've missed.

I went by myself the second time on a Sunday afternoon to another sold out crowd. Nobody could tell I was alone. Movie got a standing ovation at the end. It was very exciting!

I think the OP's choice of words -- simply awesome -- truly does describe the achievement of this movie. How many movies receive almost universal critical acclaim, are box-office hits, and appeal to people from all age groups? I can think of only a handful.

Plus you don't even have to be a fan of star trek to enjoy the movie. Amazing.

This movie was indeed spectacular. It had the best opening scene I have ever watched for any movie! :) The battle between the Kelvin and the other ship was awesome as well..and there were scenes that I felt like crying..especially the end!!!!!!! :D

Well this would almost definately give it the four thumbs up;

I've been with my partner for 8 years and she's never even wanted to know anything about trek, let alone actually watch one with me.

But she came along only cos the chick on the hot 30 countdown was at the premiere in Sydney and said it was GREAT!!!!

And she LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!

And would you believe it after the movie she actually said and i quote "If all those episodes and movies are like that, i wanna see more"

(Damn shame they're NOT all that good)

Either way it was FANTASTIC!!!

Trek is alive again.

yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

^I think you nailed it. Star trek needs to be more consistently good. While fans like me judge trek by the best it has to offer, the casual fan is more likely to remember the bad. There is no reason for star trek to EVER be bad, unless a movie-maker or TV-series-maker is lazy and sloppy.
