^Built by slaves. In secret. From a completely original design created by the slave scientists. Fueled and provisioned by the slave logistical system. Right...

The worst ships are Klingon and Cardassians, since the Klingons get an unfair boost with their cloak I feel the Cardassians might have better ships but not by much

I'll rank em like I would rank a boxer on punching power, brains, agility and toughness
I'm probably 100% wrong but here goes:

Heavyweight Striking Power

-Voyager Class(after a few Janeway upgrades:evil:)
-Borg cubes
-Breen Cruisers(cheats)
-Scimitar
-Sovereign class
-Dominion Battleships
-Negh'var :klingon:

Techie Brains
(ships ability to analyze weird radiation block it, copy it etc)

-Borg :borg:
-Enterprise-D Galaxy class
-Space Station
-D'deridex
-Intrepid class
-Nebula class
-Romulan science ship
-Defiant class
-Valdore-type
-Akira class
-Prometheus class
-Cardassian Galor class

Footwork
Evasion, Maneuverability, Stealth, Cloaking, Warp Speed etc

-Scimitar :rommie:
-Valdore type
-D'deridex
-Regent's flagship
-Defiant
-Intrepid class
-The Pegasus
-B'rel Bird of Prey class
I think the new Klingon ship is bulky and has a crappy cloak, I hate the ship and prefer the old. The NV sucks, its about as maneuverable as a walrus. The old isn't much better, if it didn't have a cloak I wouldn't even rank it here that's all I can say

Damage soak
(what's the point in dishing it out when you can't take the heat, Damage soak is my way of ranking the ships/shields ability to soak up blows)

-Space Stations
-Voyager (Intrepid class on steroids )
-Scimitar
-Borg Cube
-Yesterday's Enterprise
-Sovereign class
-Enterprise-D Galaxy Class
-D'deridex

I give the win to "Voyager" because it ranks high in every area you look at, its the ship I would pick
this is my ship even though a wasn't a big fan of the series

...coolest looking ship?
Well I have to think about that rank for a bit :shifty:

Mirandas were cannon fodder IMO, here we see two of them getting one shotted by phaser fire

It's vastly inferior to a regular Jem'Hadar or even a Cardassian ship

That was after two hours of threading through a vast enemy fleet. About 10 seconds later we hear that the USS Defiant is also on the brink of possible destruction so they didn't do that much worse then the Defiant.

What exactly is a regular Jem'Hadar and Cardassian ship? Do you mean the Jem'Hadar attack ship and Galor class?

Like I said I could be 100% wrong, I've mostly watched TOS only seen about 3/4 of DS9 and 3/4 of Voyager. I wasn't a big fan but I've seen a lot of episodes more than once and IMO I think I've seen enough to make judgment. I don't think the Miranada is much better than a Galor class or a Cardassian Keldon cruiser. Two of them getting cut up at the exact same time, I suspect these ships have some fatal weakness and two dying at once that has to be a fatal design flaw.

Now you could argue its just a silly plot element, the DS9 writers just wanted some ships to blow up so they picked 2 Mirandas to be the punchbag and Boom. However its there on screen, it is meaningful, its considered canon so you can't argue with it. I think a small group of Jem Attack ships will seriously own a Miranda, against a Jem'Hadar attack ship or battleship, well here the Miranda is totally out classed.

Miranda class is pretty old anyway- so its reasonable to assume that without a complete refit it would be behind the times.

I would imagine that the Miranda class ships still in service during the TNG/DS9 weren't really supposed to go on combat missions, they were mostly supposed to go on non-combat missions inside the Federation but the Dominion War forced Starfleet to use them in battle.

I've always perceived the Federation and the Romulans as having the best, biggest vessels.

I perceive the Klingons as having a lot of smaller ships that are powerful for their size (birds of prey), while having fewer big ships that can go one-on-one with the big ships of other empires. It's more of a choice on their part than a limitation factor.

I perceive the Cardassians as having tech at a lower level than the other major empires...or at least they used to.

the BoP is designed to be used in large numbers. its starting to show its age though. starfleet took the concept and advanced upon it with the defiant.

the K'tinga is like the Excelsior- its been around a long time & is like the backbone of the fleet & is powerful for its size. 1 v 1 the K'tinga is probably better than the Excelsior (refits aside)

the Vor'cha is quite big- not huge but is powerful for its size. it looks like it will replace the K'tinga sooner or later. it should be able to take on most starfleet cruisers- nebula class, akira class etc

I think the Negh'Var is the Klingon response to starfleet's galaxy class & romulan d'deridex.
its big, very powerful & is the capital ship of the Klingon Fleet.

the main weakness of the Klingon fleet is the BoPs. they are useful scouts, recon ships & commerce raiders. by modern standards however they are a bit small, they lack fire power & they dont hold up that well against enemy fire.

They're not meant to hold up well in a slobber-knocker. The BoP were the ultimate Calvary Raid ship. For that purpose, they still can do, on simply screen evidence and my own mind that job very well.

yeah but compared to the Defiant they lack firepower & ruggedness.

the Defiant is the perfect cavalry raid ship because unlike BoPs which drop like flies- the Defiant doesnt.
