Do I still have to add "Spolers?" Anywho, I might have missed it in the flick, but were they ever clear on how far in the future Nimoy Spock came from? Was it already the 25th Century? Was it right after Nemesis? Was Romulus' destruction caused by the backlash of fans' anger over Nemesis and the dissapointment of that film? Just wondering.

Yes, they were clear on from when Future Spock came. They stated it directly in the dialog.

i believe its been said that Romulans were used because there was the feeling that Klingons were overused and Romulans are more mysterious.

It was to give the badguy motivation, in addition, since it was destroyed in a time period that we will never see again, it can be still be used in the *current* time period.
