The Green Orion Woman

She didn't seem very Orion-ish, but whatever.

She could've been one of many who escaped the Orion lifestyle (I, for one, don't entirely buy Enterprise's supposit that Orion is a matriarchal society where the women rule, it kind of ruins the... "allure" of the Orion Slave Girl, but whatever) either because one of her parents were human and raised her on Earth or Orion, like all societies, isn't all one society and she happens to be from one that doesn't enslave its females.

This is the second or third time i have come across this argument. From the incidents in Enterprise it's known Orion Females are the ones running the show with there freaky pheremone powers. It's not up to you too buy it or not, it's right there on screen for you to be told.

Once you accept that as Canon (what choice do any of us have? the show is canon.) it seems fairly unrealistic that this chick has some amazing back story that just happens to explain why instead of being off pirating and humping her way around the galaxy she is at the Academy.

Bottom line is she was there so that when the lights went on the chick was Green, because it's a readily identifiable star trek thing (going back too TOS)

She was majorly hot and I want her to have survived, but only so they can fill a plothole by having her turn out to be a spy. After all we have a whole thread discussing her, can you think of a more effective honey trap?

Alternate universe. ;)

And since we're not told how or why she's there we have to use logic and knowledge to make sense of it.

Logic and knowledge tells us that there's no such thing as an "all one class society" and that "it's possible she's just one of the fortuante few who got to have a real life."

It's also possible she's not Orion but another species that happens to be green. I mean, there's countless species that look like humans so it seems there'd be a few that look like Orions. ;)

I just checked the novelization (since I know it wasn't mentioned). Unfortunately her ship assignment isn't mentioned in it either.

No, the chick with the big hooters always gets it. It's a Law Of Movie Dynamics.

Sad, 'cause she had personality. :(

On the other hand, we could say she's not dead she's become One with the Robau. :D

it's not just the big boobies. it's also the sex. just think Jason. she's gotta kick the bucket. it's movie law.

Didn´t she say the Farragut in the movie? Or was she talking about Uhura´s ship assignment?

I thought that she was surprised like Uhura was that they weren't assigned to Enterprise. I'm going to resee the film either tomorrow or Friday (probably Friday).

Memory Alpha (not that its 100% accurate) suggests that her assignment wasn't mentioned as well.

I wonder what division she was in. Because if it was Security/Engineering, she'd look like a Christmas ornament.

Given she had reddish hair and pink lips, unlike most of the other Orion women we've met, she might've been part human, for all we know! -- RR

No, please, do not turn this new Trek franchise into the same old "nobody dies, and if they do they will just be resurrected" hash
Oh, I'm not for that at all. But there are a lot of stories that could be told with this character. It would just seem like a waste. (Of course, maybe that's the point. :()
