Star Wars moments?

I loved the movie, but several points in the movie reminded me of Star Wars:

1. Kirk and Spock finding the Jellyfish and running towards it. The music there echoes John Williams. Also when Kirk is standing and seeing the Jellyfish take off.

2. The establishing shot of Vulcan's tall buildings before they show Young Spock.

3. The shuttlecraft taking off from Earth towards the Enterprise and the pull back to show 23rd century San Francisco.

4. The main shuttlecraft hanger on Earth.

5. Most of the close quarters combat on the drill.

The phasers that are now blasters.

The ice planet.

The "bigger fish" scene.

The flying motorcycle.

The action scenes.

You're forgetting that little shite that was Scotty's pal.

yeah... He's Rocky Wok ...
(say it fast...you'll get it...)

11) The DeathStar Size, Narada..

12) When Spock Prime walks off the Jellyfish after being captured, reminds me of numerous occasions of the SW gang disembarking from ships and the Alien Encounter scene from near the end of CEot3K...

of course star wars borrowed from all over the place including star trek.
that jedi mind trick on weak minds can be said to come from a taste of armageddon .
heck star trek even had an ice planet scene.. though it was in the past of a planet.
;)
but just some of the places were star wars borrowed beside trek,
the searchers, hidden fotress, dam busters, to have and have not,.

I've always thought of this. Wars borrows or steals frequently from a lot of sources, but rarely gets called on it, usually Wars is praised for deftly "synthisizing" some old mythological element from past movies or TV shows.

But when Trek does it, Trek is always accused of ripping someone off. If Trek did a movie or TV epsiode returning to the cities in the sky from TOS's "The Cloud Minders", almost everyone would accuse Trek of ripping off Star War's Bespin city in the clouds.

actually one reason why lucas wasnt called out about it more was he often was so open about were he got his inspiration.
he has especially been so about the kurosawa influence and openly credited hidden fortress as being a major inspiration.

as for flying motorcycles..
they were around way long before star wars.
especially in books and even in the media in places like fireball xl5.

"That is not my destiny"

Trek has continually been about forging one's own destiny, not subscribing to the notion that destiny is preordained or subject to some outside FORCE
