Why Was This Cancelled!?!

Die hard Trekies hated it. I know I did. Trying to re-write Gene's concepts always suck

Just out of curiousity who were the writers working on the series Enterprise and did said writers work on any of the previous Star Trek series?

Funny, I was a 'die hard Trekkie' since 1969 (saw TOS Seasion 3 first run); and while TOS is still #`1 for me, ENT was and still is firmly #2.

IMO - ENT DIDN'T try to re-write GR's original concept; it tried to RETURN to it (and more away from the 'himanistic' re-write of Star Trek GR did for the 24th century and TNG - and for me, in that vien, it succeeded.

Also, hardcore TNG fans seem to like to forget that TNG seasons one and two are STILL regarded as some of the worst seasons of Star Trek made; that TNG was pretty much panned by the critics until Yesterday's Enterprise amd the Best of Both Worlds season 3 cliffhanger; and it wasn't until mid-season 3 and Season 4 that the TNG audience actually statred to have more 'main stream' acceptence; and hell, even I enjoyed TNG in it's day; but honestly, over the years, TNG has not retained the same rewatchablility factor (for me); while I fiind both TOS and ENT very rewatchable.

But still - sorry to burst your bubble, but no, not all 'die hard Trekkies' hated it.

QFT.. From another diehard Star Trek fan-since 1970

Old Hands at Star Trek:

Series Creators - Rick Berman & Brannon Braga

Mike Sussman (story editor on Voyager, whose writing I enjoyed on ENT),
André Bormanis (former scientific consultant during TNG & DS9, wrote for Voyager)
Phyllis Strong (wrote several episodes for Voyager’s final season)

Garfield & Judith Reeves-Stevens (countless novels to their credit)

Writers New to Star Trek:

Manny Coto (writer who came aboard in S3, showrunner in S4, Odyssey 5, now works on 24)

Chris Black, John Shiban (The X-Files, The Lone Gunmen), David A. Goodman (Futurama & Family Guy), Fred Dekker (responsible for Robocop 3, 80’s Horror flicks – Monster Squad & House) André & Maria Jacquemetton, Stephen Beck, Terry Matalas, Brent V. Friedman, Alan Brennert (aka Michael Bryant, who previously wrote for Buck Rogers in the 25th Century), Ken LaZebnik, Tim Finch.

Writing within the format, obviously tough given the high turnover of contributors from season to season.

I hated to see it cancelled but as usual Hollywood does not give a show a chance. They took bionic woman off after a few shows. At least listen to the fans and tweak a show first before you take it off. HOLLYWOOD PLEASE LISTEN!

There were some good episodes in Enterprise, but I could never truly get into the show. The series had some potential, but I think they should have done it a different way. No time travel bull, and a show about the formation of the Federation, and exploring new worlds. Also, Voyager might have not be a great show, but it did have something, Enterprise didn't, and that is awesome characters. Not one Enterprise character interested me except for the Vulcan chick, but she was kind of a 7 of 9 rip off anyway.
