NBC: Upfront, no infront, no just a list of shows

rumour has it FOX would pick it up if NBC did drop it.

seems kind strange to me, FOX has no live action comedy's, unless they are making a big push for those next Fall, I dont see why they would have an interest in it.

ok it has TilDeath, but why is that still on air?

Isn't it a Fox show?
It could be like Scrubs moving to ABC.

if Day One is anything like Survivors and its ALOT alike Survivors its going to be a big hit for NBC

If that link that Temis the Vorta posted is accurate, it looks like it's going to be a Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer take on Survivors with lots of fiery explosions. It remains to be seen whether that's a good or bad thing.

It looks like crap that they used to show on Sunday's in February, the big blockbuster TV movie of the year, and those ALWAYS sucked.

Yeah, it's kinda shocking how poorly NBC has been faring lately when I can still so clearly remember the heady days of 3rd Rock from the Sun, ER, Frasier, Friends, Mad About You, NewsRadio, Seinfeld, and Will & Grace.

I couldn't help but read that with Sean Connery's Russian-ish accent from 'The Hunt for Red October.' You forgot to lisht Shputnik and Yuri Gagarin. :rommie:
I hope we're right about NBC wanting to at least keep Law & Order going long enough to hit the big 20 year mark. At least it's encouraging that they seem to be airing a lot of reruns of it. And now it looks like Law & Order: Criminal Intent is moving back from USA to NBC.

Whatever happened to American Gladiators? I liked that show a lot.

Generally agreed with all of your remarks. And I am rather surprised American Gladiators didn't last longer. Perhaps it will return in the summer?

*shudder*

I just read on TVGuide that Chuck is likely to be renewed, but they're going to change its time slot to another night.

yes I believe that is the case, just saw something about ABC offering New Adv. of old Christine a home if CBS drops up, should they really be so open about that? that said if I had to guess which network it was on, I would have said ABC anyways.

to be fair, its easy to do that in the first episode of Survivors, less so in later episodes, look at how differnt episode 1 of Survivors was to the rest of the show, even a 90 minute specail.

It sort of makes sense to own the shows you show on your network now... it's the whole synergy thing that I'm surprised hasn't really occured to the networks sooner.

^ I would guess most of the time that is the case already, I would guess its just shows where the original network made a pilot, but didnt like it, and the producer managed to shop it to another network.

I hope you're right about Parks and Recreation. I've gotten to really enjoy the show, and would hope that in time it could get better. 6 episodes really isn't enough of a first season to even find your footing.

I think it's just really funny now how much of a tight leash we (Specifically the networks) put on shows. After two episodes people want the show to be canceled, but wasn't it the case with 30 Rock that it took at least 10 episodes to really find it's footing. Didn't the writers retool the show in the middle of the season mainly because of the complaints? I understand the complaints from Parks and Rec (Such as making Poehler's character a bit of a dutz and idiot, and that her stint on SNL should give her something better than that) but since the first episode, I think the show has improved. I guess not watching the Office thus giving me no point of reference helped.

The Office got a very similar start as Parks & Rec is getting. The first season of the Office was only six episodes long and it didn't begin airing until March. And it was a rough start to say the least. The show didn't really take off until Season 2. I think Parks & Rec deserves the same treatment. Give it a full season and see if it can work out the kinks. Poehler's character on the show is pretty much just a female version of Michael Scott from the Office: well-intentioned but naive and a bit ignorant, with an inflated sense of how important her job is.

I'm expecting Pretty LA People of The Usual Character Types, with The Usual "Dramatic" Problems and Inpersonal Issues doing a lot of running around to avoid explosions and gunfights and banding together to solve a Vaguely Defined but Ominous Conspiracy Theory (which will make no sense in the end, in the unlikely event the show lasts that long). And even I'm not cynical enough to think that's going to constitute a hit or even a show that can survive - if brainless action were enough for people, then why did Knight Rider get cancelled?
