NBC: Upfront, no infront, no just a list of shows

This isn't definitive, but it looks like Chuck's screwed unless it gets a midseason renewal. :(
No worries yet, they said there won't be an announcement on Chuck until later on.

Yeah, I rethought my message after posting it.

I mistakenly assumed there were only 10 primetime hours including Leno in the schedule but there's actually a bit more than that if you include weekends.

primetime hours,

2 hours weekedays (10 in total), 3 on saturday & 4 on Sunday.

Sunday at least till the end of NFL is going to be NFL all night, but that wont be the case come midsesaon or Summer, so NBC will have those hours to fill. ok Saturday chances are be repeats, but after the Superbowl NBC will have 3 more hours a week to play one. (2 if you DateLine NBC airs at the normal Sunday 7pm slot)

so basically after NFL season, NBC will have 12 hours a week to fill with new programming

considering the 10 hours per week, 6 comedy shows seems like ALOT, and I would not be surprised if Biggest Loser is cut back to 60 minutes

Someone who works on Chuck said it will be another 1-2 weeks before an announcement.

Life is dead.

I think NBC realizes all they have is garbage, and all they plan is garbage, so they should have extra shows when others fail.

Day One will be canceled, so there is an hour to fill.

Why are they bring back SNL Thursday?! It worked for an election, but it's just stupid now. Plus SNL needs to worry about their Saturday shows first.

just had a look at Deal or No Deals wikipeida, and it looks like the show may not return next fall.

if we again look at Deadline Hollywood

That's as inexplicable as the network privately telling insiders that Chuck, Medium and Law & Order are picked up -- yet not announcing it today.
I guess NBC doesnt want to commit to Got Talent yet, since this years run hasnt started yet, same for Merlin (obviously the BBC have renewed it for a second series), as for My Name is Earl, who knows.

Why are they bring back SNL Thursday?
I was surprised by that as well.

My main point was that working only 46 weeks a year means you're taking 6 weeks off! That's a month and half of vacation time, and that's not normal.
It doesn't seem odd to me. Production will usually get shut down for a week at a time for holidays.

I'm very happy about Parks and Recreation. Give the Show a chance to get better. I think it's heading in the right direction already.

I'm surpised that 'Til Death got renewed. And I guess Fox is Earl's only hope. Somehow, I think the 'Law & Order's are safe.

All the L&Os will be safe for at least one more year. No matter what I can't see NBC not giving L&O wouldn't get a proper sendoff, even if the final season is only 13 episodes long.

apparntly FOX just renewed Fringe

no more upfronts till Fox has its turn on the 18th May, NBC goes again on the 19th, what happens with NBC in the meantime is anyways guess, personally I am not impressed with how this has been handled.

I seem to remember a failed series based on the Parenthood film. They couldn't make it work coming off the success of the film and think it'll work now? Good think it'll be NBC's money not mine.

TONY ROBBINS? I'm gagging already.
Exactly - This just sounds like desperation to me...

It's hard to believe that NBC was one of the biggest networks just a few years ago.:vulcan:

Any word on Heroes?

Someone at NBC months ago that there would be 18-20 episodes of Heroes next year, I'm betting on 18 and then it is canceled.
I'm betting that it all hinges on how the new NBC lineup does - if it crashes & burns, and Heroes doesn't erode too much more, S5 is far from out of the question.

TV is like the weather - no way to predict it a year out. :rommie:
Day One will be canceled, so there is an hour to fill.
Yup. Who the frak is in the mood for armegeddon? The cast is a buncha nobodies except of course for Radioactive George.

Videos of NBC's new cancellation fodder.

Every single one of them looks utterly generic. We've seen ALL those shows before! And then Leno comes on and makes fun of all the generic crap on TV - he could have used clips from NBC's lineup!

And I'm rather disturbed to realize I wouldn't have been able to answer Jay's "dumb" Jaywalking question...

OK everyone, good news! If that garbage is the best NBC can do then Chuck, Heroes, Medium and L&O will be getting several more seasons!

100 Questions is one of the worst looking shows i have ever seen a clip for! Horrid! Plus the office they are using is Will's from Will and Grace, the exact office... cheap much NBC? You used to be the number 1 network, you used to have the best comedies and this is all you have now?! You are almost getting beat out by The CW! That's a wanna be network!

If you live in the USA and don't know where the president lives or Spongebob.... I don't know.... this is why we need better school....

Yeah, it's kinda shocking how poorly NBC has been faring lately when I can still so clearly remember the heady days of 3rd Rock from the Sun, ER, Frasier, Friends, Mad About You, NewsRadio, Seinfeld, and Will & Grace.

I hope we're right about NBC wanting to at least keep Law & Order going long enough to hit the big 20 year mark. At least it's encouraging that they seem to be airing a lot of reruns of it. And now it looks like Law & Order: Criminal Intent is moving back from USA to NBC.

Whatever happened to American Gladiators? I liked that show a lot.

My main point was that working only 46 weeks a year means you're taking 6 weeks off! That's a month and half of vacation time, and that's not normal.

IIRC, I get a total of 4 weeks off per year, 2 paid, 2 unpaid. (Although, I think it's actually mathematically impossible for every employee here to take every single vacation day that they are entitled to because of how they need to work out the vacation schedule with the other employees.)

But it seems like not a big leap from 4 weeks for a cashier to 6 weeks for one of the most famous comedians in the country. Personally, I'm wishing I was on summer vacation right about now.

if Day One is anything like Survivors and its ALOT alike Survivors its going to be a big hit for NBC

If that link that Temis the Vorta posted is accurate, it looks like it's going to be a Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer take on Survivors with lots of fiery explosions. It remains to be seen whether that's a good or bad thing.
