LOST actor & ABC sued

I realized it was a joke after I had posted my witty rejoinder. My "point" was the alleged harrassment was excused by the poster as weak willed boys will be weak willed boys and replacing pinchable heineys with a kickable groin was a way to point out the stupidity of that excuse.

I apologize for my reactionary posting, Evil Dead.

Oh, and Jenee? I would strenuously object if my testicles were kicked... My avatar is a bit feminine but it's a neat pic of one of my cats.

I'd like to hear his side of the story before any fingers are pointed.

I just don't believe a company as big as ABC would fire this women & ignore her claims if there was any truth to it. Plus, if she couldn't be on the same set as him, then maybe they let her go because she couldn't do her job due to that reason. Why would you want to stay on a job you were getting sexually harrassed at, if such a thing did happen?

Well, in all fairness, not really. One is offensive, juvenile, uncomfortable and perhaps grounds for a civil action depending on the extent and context of the grope and pattern of behavior, the other, OTOH, is assault and battery, a criminal offense, not to mention a whole shitload more damaging.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Like he would need to go around harassing women to get some action.

Sorry. Not buying.:p

However, he is certainly welcome to come on over and 'harass' me. In fact, he can come for a week.

Because that's the reason men sexually harass women - out of deprived need, right?

And, you know, "unattractive" women don't have to worry about sexual assault either because who'd want to do 'em?  right back at ya.

uh are you joking or do you really believe that..
in the end harrasment often like rape has more to do with power then just sex.

I'm sure PKTrekGirl would react in exactly the same way if one of the "pot-bellied" men she likes to talk about harassed her too.

Wow, no sense of humor in THIS crowd, I see.

But since a few of you guys HAVE no sense of humor, let me spell it out for you.

A) We don't know WHAT happened. Just because it's been reported in some tabloid or on E! doesn't make it true. I know that is a difficult concept to grasp, but there it is.

B) Until we DO know whether it's true or not (assuming we EVER will, even after a lawsuit is through the courts - think "OJ"), I say we don't jump to conclusions.

FACT: The rags LOVE to trash every celebrity in site. Because trash sells rags. Sad statement on the state of human nature, that most of us love to read about other people's misery, but there it is. Most people eat that shit up. Which is why they publish and otherwise report any and all trash they can root up. And which is ALSO why I don't buy ANY of those publications or watch any shows which feed off of the personal lives of celebrities. Might even be a large part of the reason why I watch mostly TCM. Most of those celebrities are dead, and only their films remain. Not all the silliness and ridiculous drama surrounding them.

FACT: There ARE certain people out there (both male and female) who will capitalize on any sort of brief association with a celebrity for monetary gain and/or their 10 minutes of fame. This is why celebrities hire 16 body guards, an army of press agents, PR people, managers and handlers.

I know this is difficult to follow, but hang in there...

Because of the above, I choose to make no judgment on the issue....and instead make my usual sort of joke about what I consider to be an attractive man.

I realize that some of the folks in this thread have a difficult time with the concept of 'sense of humor'....but that is what I do. I make jokes. And have done so consistently for about....oh....going on 8 years and 30,000 posts on this board.

Sadly (for BOTH of us), since I am green, you cannot put me on ignore. So if you are so mortally offended by my jokes, you will just have to buck up, pull all of your self-control together, and STOP READING MY POSTS.

Sorry, but your "joke" was neither good nor does it set a good idea out there. It had nothing to do with whether Cusick did what is being claimed (I doubt he did) but everything to do with diminishing sexual harassment just because you like the way he looks. This is the fourth person to call you on that so that should tell you that you were in the wrond.

I believe I said that in second post in this thread.

Again, redundant.

This is true. There's an army of young women in Britain who hang around in nightclubs waiting for Premier League footballers they know will turn up, and then we get another tabloid "rape" story.

Because of the above, I choose to make no judgment on the issue....and instead make my usual sort of joke about what I consider to be an attractive man.

Given some of the posts I've seen you make on this subject before, your reaction is somewhat surprising and I can only assume you made it because Cusick is a good looking guy. Temis did the same thing earlier on. It would be very interesting to see what your reaction would have been if it had been Jorge Garcia or someone else who isn't quite in Cusick's league who had been the subject of the accusations.

I don't believe you're implying Cusick's guilt or being disrespectful to those who have been harassed, but it does come across like you're saying it's okay because Cusick would be welcome to "harass" you.

Just thought I'd bump this thread to add that according to TMZ, the case has now been settled:

http://www.tmz.com/2009/10/27/lost-henry-ian-cusick-settles-sexual-harrasment-suit

Ay, brother -- Henry Ian Cusick is off the hook.

Cusick -- who plays Desmond Hume on "Lost" -- has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with a former production staffer who sued him back in April for allegedly grabbing and touching her inappropriately.

The woman sued Cusick, ABC and a Hawaiian production company. Her lawyer tells us she has settled with all the defendants and the terms are confidential.
