So Oceanic will never have crashed. That means Locke will be crippled, Kate will be in jail, Sawyer and Jack's lives will continue to suck (Jack's always had), Charlie will still be a junkie and probably get arrested on the plane, and a bunch of people will still be alive.
It's been set up as the sister episode in many ways to "The Constant" and while it was pretty damn good, it wasn't that similar either in structure or quality to it.
I'm not ragging on it, but when you overtly reference the best Lost episode ever you expect something really wicked.
It was very good, wasn't it? I can see why they killed Daniel. He's packing nothing but answers in his backstory. He's a liability for the producers. But he still made an indelible impression on the audience and I'm sad to see him go.
It's going to be interesting to see how our layman Losties interpret his words from this episode.
