Daily Star reveals some information(Spoilers)

This sounds like someone just read the Doctor Who forums and regurgitated some of the leading theories. Bunk, I say! Bunk!

Mark

I typically don't read spoilers, but the curiousity got the best of me and if true, this is the kind of special I'm hoping for. Make it grand, make it epic, and people coming back, especially one in particular, is always a good thing.

Funny how "they" were referred to as "It" in "Planet of the Dead"

"It is returning, it is returning through the dark" I guess Caan did more that just dragging Davro's out
Maybe 'it' is Gallifrey? :D

Though I doubt it. I'd find it odd for RTD to have that in his last story leaving Moffat to pick up the pieces. Wouldn't mind it if it were true though...

I have to agree. Like everyone else, I didn't want another big, overblown finale from RTD at first... but now, after the lifeless, ho-hum Planet of the Dead, I'm actually hungry for something spectacular and epic again.

Plus I just miss the companions. Tennant's a lot more fun to watch when he has someone like Martha or Donna to bounce off of.

Oh that works too, Gallifrey escaping the time lock.

I have feeling that at the end of Smith's first special we'll be introduced to the brand new control room(apparently the most hi tech control room yet)

It's sort of like Tennant looking for clothes in the wardrobe room. The new guy, new show direction making a clean break.

That wouldn't necessarily be how it works though... RTD bringing back Gallifrey and the Time Lords, and then wiping out any possibility of them returning (while also wiping out any desire in the Doctor to get them back) would give Steve an even cleaner sheet to work on.

More Tabloid bullshit.

Or to be more accurate a few things we already know padded out with some random ideas plucked from internet message boards.

But we just did that three episodes ago. An explosive, epic, grand finale every five or six episodes is a little overkill.

Not so much so if the episodes in question are separated by eighteen months, particularly when that eighteen months has seen fewer episodes of Doctor Who than usual.

See, I think there should be a difference between Episode and Special. If these are labeled as Special, then they should be so, instead of your average episode.

nothing new there really, as for stealing from OG, they never even picked up the holographic 4th Doctor idea.

True, or else maybe Moffat mentioned to RTD in passing that he'd really love to have the Timelords back again for when Smith was the Doctor...

This would be Steven "The worst thing the Original Series ever did was introduce the Time Lords and reveal the Doctor's background" Moffat, would it?

Sigh...yes much like Russell T 'I hate the Master' Davies... We're all just speculating here, none of us really know what Moffat thinks, and, you know, he is a human being, he can change his mind. He didn't want to cast Gina Belman in Jekyll...but then he did.

I was wondering, perhaps the Time Lord's aren't "evil", they might want revenge for what The Doctor did.

Ofcourse, if Caan went back to the Time War, the time lock could have easily been broken, like when Torchwood have a time lock in their headquarters, they can't go out or it'll break the lock. The exact same thing could have happened when Caan got Davros out.

Wait...isn't that whole notion pulled from an interview he did fifteen years ago?
