UK People have you... [first UK TV ad sighting]

Re: UK People have you...

Positive BBC News review, and also a Star Trek interview is third most watched on the BBC site. While that might not be too much to read in to, I think this film will do good business at the UK box office.

Re: UK People have you...

Pine and Qunito interview on GMTV this morning. Apparently Lorraine Kelly wants Quinto to attend the premier dressed up as Spock.

Found it here, dunno if its available staeside, but give it a go. :techman:

L:guffaw:L, Theyve mispelt 'Spok'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8009318.stm

They misspelt 'Trekky' in the link to that page and it's now the 'SS Enterprise'.

 Honestly. Anyone would think they weren't nerds.

Re: UK People have you...

LOL, youd think they would at least put a bit of effort into plugging the movie...

Just watched the interview, its a somewhat 'standardised scripted answer' interview but it was interesting, they seemed to be comfortable at the moment in their rolels (Oh Zach and Chris and co, you dont know what is yet to come. I pitty you.:p)

The two actors seemed a bit distant from one another though, dunno if it was due heavy advertising and other premieres around the world taking its tole on them, but they didnt seem to have any off-screen chemistry.

Likewise, if i had been from the US, to Australia and then to england in just a few days, id be dosed up on Pro +, coffee and more coffee. Poor bastards.

I think it's the whole world tour tiredness plus having to answer the same questions over and over again.

Look here for an example of chemistry when they were at the beginning and still fresh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBtlZQkTYYc

Re: UK People have you...

As I said the other week on another thread, no Star Trek movie has ever made more than 36% of its worldwide gross outside of the US.

Paramount probably see big money UK and non-US advertising as a waste of resources. Of course, that's totally the wrong attitude to take, but we all know how The Suits think.

Even if the film does over and above good business in the UK, you won't be talking much more than £4 or £5 million.

Unless they've been glued to the relevant internet sites 24/7, the average person in the UK won't even know about the new Trek film, let alone want to see it.

Re: UK People have you...

STILL not seen any TV ads in the UK. I saw one for Angels and Demons during a lost special today, but still no Trek. A&D is out the week after...

Still waiting.....

Re: UK People have you...

JUST SAW an ad during Paul O'Grady show on CH4!!!

Nearly choked on my pasta too.

Re: UK People have you...

Not liking the mix of rock/metal music and Star Trek, I want the orchestral music back.

Re: UK People have you...

Well it was a few minutes before I posted, it was during the show (I wanted to finish my food before I posted) :)

Re: UK People have you...

Oh so it wasn't normal advertising, like during an ad break.

Still waiting to see even a single poster in London.

Re: UK People have you...

^^^ Me too, nothing around here in Kent, not even in the papers. :klingon:
