J. J. Abrams reboots the beloved sci-fi franchise in this prequel exploring the early days of Kirk and Spock.

I took this photo earlier today. It is in front of one of the movie theaters in Thailand.

The poster is very big. It'll be out here on May 7th (with the time difference Thai people will be seeing it a little earlier than some in North America).

The translation from Thai to English as “From the best director of mission impossible 3.” And “The new adventure is beginning”

I'm pretty optimistic about this movie. I guess that Star Trek will be at the top (number 1) in Thailand Box Office in May 2009.

What is your opinion?

I don't know much about Thailand, especially its movie industry, but I'm hoping that Star Trek does well considering the size of the country. Were the other movies big in Thailand? I have heard that Star Trek does not have a big audience in most of Asia.

Japan's the only one, I guess. I know my cousins don't care about Trek in India. they've got too many Bollywood movies to watch.

Yeh I never figured India or that region to be into TREK but am sure it must have a decent base in Japan/S.Korea & Thailand. It should do solid buissness in Europe especially in Germany & The UK though I don't expect much more than $125 million worldwide the big bucks are in North America where it looks like $175-225 million is a good bet

Actually Trek historically sucks in Japan. Almost non existent. Asia is by far Trek's week spot as for as WW ticket sales. And thats saying a lot.
