To me, Star Trek has always been cooler than Star Wars.

And really, ST09 is cooler, as a franchise whole, there's not comparison.

What does Star Trek Insurrection have to do with this? I take it you meant ST11 yes? How can we call ourselves fans if we can't even count the films properly?

Yep. There's nothing cool about these franchises. Nothing. The question really is: will the movie going public at large find the new Trek to be more entertaining than Star Wars.

But for laughs, let's pretend for a moment Trek could be cool. This will only last the half an hour after the movie opens. After that, the inevitable footage of certain Trek fans literally wailing over what was done to their show will hit the infotainment shows/tubes. The regularly scheduled geek taint will resume.
