Giant mystery blob found near dawn of time

Maybe we've found Sha Ka Ree or the missing third city of the Caeliar

On a serious note: One more reason why I say the universe is far more interesting than anything written by authors or filmed. It could turn out to be nothing, or it could turn out to be the ultimate discovery. Gotta love deep space science.

How were they able to see back in time? Do we have time machines? and if we do, why didn't anybody tell me?

I'm not sure whether you're joking or whether to take you serious here. :cardie:

Anyway, I think it's just an oversized nebula. Everything was closer back then so I don't see a problem in believing that gas could have accumulated into a 55,000 lightyear blob.

How to see back in time?

Easy look at an object say 10,000 light years away. If you did so you would be seeing how the object looked 10,000 years ago. Why? Because if the object is 10,000 light years away it will take 10,000 years for the light that was emitted right now to reach your eyes, so as a result you are seeing light emitted from it 10,000 years ago.

I just picked the number 10,000 off the top of my head.

I think he was kidding, that's why I didn't say nothing. ;)

All we ever see is 'back in time'.
