Boring phases at your job

So a couple of weeks i was approached by my boss if i would like to work a while in a foreign country (it's about 230km away from my place so not really such a huge trip).

Sounds like Liège to me or the Netherlands to me! Not places where I would like to end up in. ;)

Luxemburg actually.. i work in Bascharage and have my appartment in Esch near the city centre (about a 20 minute commute)

Wow, people actually LIVE in Luxembourg?! Here and I thought it was just a tourist trap set up by the French to confuse Americans!

Learn something new every day.

The most boring phase of my work is between 9 am and quarter to 5 in the evening. Apart from that it's fine.

You then understand why i've loaded up my laptop with games, movies and TV shows and brought many books and am planning to move some of my hobby stuff with me when i return Sunday evening :)

It"s a nice town but the stores close at 6 pm! and the rest is so damn expensive here (especially food.. 20-30% more than in Germany). Fuel prices are comparatively low but then my company pays for the fuel so who cares ;)

The core aspects of my job are very interesting.

Unfortunately the adminstration & unnecessary bureaucracy and general paperwork is extremely tedious and takes up an increasing amount of my time.

My job is never boring. I am always busy with too much to do. It's varied, stressful, diverse work that always keeps me stretched. I'd love a few boring phases now and again.

The only time I found my current job boring is when I had to spend 4 months at a sister office which is about 250 miles from my home. The work there wasn't boring either, but living in a furnished apartment with no friends, pets or family nearby was boring. I dealt with it by staying late at work and working 7 days a week...I came back to my regular office worn out.

In my past I worked in a linen store, and I can tell you that folding flat after flat of towels is mind-numbingly boring, but working with the public is never boring (but often irritating.)
