A suicide incident occurs at Grand Central Station, which Olivia dreams about. Meanwhile, shocking details emerge about the ZFT manuscript.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this season ends.

I've done a bit of reading (aintitcool) and found out something I REALLY look forward to seeing in the season finale, including a special guest star:
We will be finally meeting William Bell, who will be played by none other than Leonard Nimoy!!!

^

Yeah, I too, am looking forward to the finale, especially as we now know who will be filling Bell's shoes.

Tonight's ep sounds sorta average, but I most likely will try to make it for the live showing. We're due for another appearance by the Observers, methinks.

Holy crap, I'm loving this show. Lost had better watch out, this is creeping up as a new favourite of mine!

And it was directed and written by Akiva Goldsman. For better or worse, YOU decide. :p

Brief spoilers for future casting and then review below it...

I don't think Nimoy is supposed to be a twist in story. It's not like when he appears Olivia will say, "My God, it's Mr. Spock!"

End spoilers.

Anyhow, fantastic episode. Olivia really shined through and she's definately my favorite character on the show. She's one of the few people on television who I buy is a real person. I think this may have been the show's best episode yet.

Certainly. I think it's supposed to be a twist for the viewer though. It's the kind of meta-fictional thing the Abrams crew do so well. Olivia won't be the least bit surprised meeting him (beyond "Fuck, that's William Bell!") but we the audience I think are supposed to say "My God, it's Mr. Spock!" And therein lies the shock.

Anyway, I graded it Excellent. Walter was great this week as was Peter. But the real standout was Anna Torv who did that whole Ed-Norton-in-Fight-Club insomniac thing so incredibly well. She was always just a little frazzled and when she wasn't in the middle of losing her shit there was the quiet threat lingering that she might.

The Cortexephan story continues and it's amping up nicely. As much as I love Lost, this show somehow manages to dole out relatively small bits of information that don't leave you nearly as infuriated as Lost does. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that they're wrapping it up nicely every week.

It's a welcome but subtle refinement on the serialized formula that the Abrams guys have been doing for awhile and while I can't wait to see where it goes next, I'm not finding myself bummed that I didn't learn more.

EDIT: Oh, and the lesbian stuff was cool but it kind of took me out of the story. It was like a Pandering-Alert went off in my brain.

Tell you what, for a show that looked like it would be a cheap X-Files rip off with some pretty clunky dialogue and clumsy story-telling with the occasional nice twist thrown in, this show is really developing into a pretty nice suprise.

All things considered after tonights episode I definitely think that anyone who tuned in the for the first 4-5 episodes and gave up ought to seriously consider getting caught back up at some point.

I'm not saying this show is "Lost" or "Firefly" season 1 good, but it's taken some pretty substantial leaps up in quality. There's still some forced dialog and they need to kill off Joshua Jackson's character or make him a real character with depth, but even with it's faults, it's really a pretty enjoyable show.
