New Verizon/Trek Site LIVE

Couple thoughts:

The Narada looks very cool. Like the lighting.

Also like the conference room (?). But why are the consoles and chairs repainted conn and ops from TNG?

I hope to God the Verizon and Nokia logos don't show up that prominently in the film. Or, if they do, that they don't look exactly like the ones from the 21st century.

Two more, from phone wallpapers...including an interesting Enterprise one with red caps

Nothing says "Star Trek" like red nacelle caps.

I wonder if the reaction to the new design would have been any different if the images we'd gotten looked like that?

From here:
Alert fans will see the Nokia logo in the movie itself, though there's no product placement -- it's the 23rd century, after all.
Which I'm taking to mean that it's there, but not blatant.

Sorry, what's the difference between 'in the movie itself' and 'product placement'? Cause to me they're exactly the same.

M'Sharak: I know about that; hence my desire that they not be as prominent as in that picture. I don't think giant logos across a good chunk of Starfleet Academy would require being an "alert fan" to spot.

It probably means that there is a Nokia logo somewhere in the movie but you will not see someone holding or talking to a Nokia phone, while the camera focuses on that.

Advertising in movies ruin them. I just watched species 4 and there is a pepsi logo on a engine, what the heck!?
