Amanda Tapping gates to Universe

Encounter at Farpoint - McCoy
Sarek - Sarek
Unification 1&2 - Spock, Sarek
Relics - Scotty

*adding up* Hmmm ... I know something's not matching there. Let's see, Encounter is one. Sarek is two. Unification is three. Relics is ... also three? Nope, that doesn't match.

Splitting hairs much? I'm guessing bigdaddy was referring to appearances of Star Trek regulars, of which there is only three if you count both parts of Unification as one (and Spock is barely on screen during the first part, anyway). But even if he wasn't, it's a pretty small mistake

Of course, Deep Space Nine brought all kinds of Next Generation characters over, principally Worf for four seasons. Next Generation didn't do as many crossovers because it was set so far in the future compared to its progenitor.

Exactly, wow 4 times in 176ish episodes! Wow! So much more than 3! Plus I meant regulars, how often was Sarek in TOS? Not that often!

What you meant is irrelevant. What you said is quoted above.

But then, your posts show you do have a severe problem with simple mathematics.

I didn't count Sarek, to be honest I completely forgot about him because he is so completely forgettable.

You have a real aversion to admitting mistakes, don't you?

Maybe if you toned down the attitude people would be less eager to call you on them.

The original-band minus one, will all be making guest appearances on Universe this fall, with the announcement that Tapping will appear on the newest spinoff.

Can Teal'c and Mitchell be far behind? Heck, let's throw in Vala too. And an alternate universe Dr Frazier...Have McKay beam in from Atlantis while you're at it.... ;)

Well the folks stuck on the Destiny may find someway to contact the SGC on Earth which could explain them appearing on the show.

Just because they're physically able to be on the show doesn't mean it's necessary or a good thing.

Don't get me wrong I really liked all the characters mentioned but I think they have had there time. I do agree though just because they can does not mean they will. At least not all the time....:guffaw:. On a serious note if this show has a chance of developing on its own IMHO they should not be introducing charactors from other series until at least the end of the second season - if it lasts that long.

Maybe you should tone down your attitude...

"Attitude" is far too annoying for me to bother with. I simply call it like I see it. You should be familiar with that, you do it often enough. Only your way tends to rub lots of folks the wrong way, whether they agree with you or not.

Stop just making new shows to have old characters on them. There were three episodes of TNG that had TOS characters on it (I'm counting the two parter as one long episode). Less really is more.

To be fair, TNG and DS9 are better comparisons, being basically contemporary, and DS9 had two characters from TNG as regulars.

Mandy will be on Stargate: Universe?

Now I finally have a good reason to watch it.

I'm still glad it'll be just a guest-shot, because I wouldn't want her to leave Sanctuary.

Sean

Bringing back the old regulars for a one-time guest appearance is no big deal. Sheesh. Hardly taints the series. Enjoy seeing them again, or not, and the series moves on. It hardly makes or breaks the new series.

Mark Lenard as Sarek was in one episode of TOS, an episode of TAS, two episodes of TNG, and three movies (III, IV & VI). But the Sarek character was also used in two movies (V and XI).

i really don't want to see all of SG1 appearing in Universe, Jack and Daniel maybe have valid reasons to show up, but not sure about Carter

My guess: Holograms. Carter will figure out some way to transmit a hologram of herself to the Destiny and the others will probably take turns using the transmitter to 'visit' and offer advice to certain characters.

I would agree if she was coming aboard as a regular but I don't see anything wrong with guest spots or cameo's. The character they really need to bring back as a regular is Rodney McHay.

Agreed. McKay pretty much single-handedly made Atlantis worth watching. They should hold onto this guy for as long as possible.

I don't mind having a few SG-1 characters in the premire to kick things off like they did with Atlantis, but I wish they would let the show stand on it's own. Whats the over/under on when Lorne is going to show up?

Zero. Andy Hallett is dead, prohibiting any further appearances by Krevlornswath of the Deathwalk Clan. But then, I never thought that a crossover with Angel was very likely anyway.:p

Andy Hallett died? Damn. I just read his Wikipedia article and to think, he was killed by a dental infection of all things. :(

Wow, just wow. :rolleyes::rolleyes::lol::lol:

OH MY GOD!!!! bigdaddy said 3 instead of 4, run for the hills!!!

Get over yourself, it doesn't matter if it was 2, 3, or 8. bigdaddy's point still stands, and contrary to what you ridiculously claim, it is what he MEANT that matters, who gives a **** if it's 3 episodes of 4.

Really? You had to drag up a two-month old post just to flame me? Okey dokey then.
