That's the whole point. You stage the house to show its best features (getting rid of clutter and any personal evidence that you live there (family photos, for example) so prospective buyers can envision their own possessions in the house). That's why Jasper's toys and other things are out of sight.

I think it would be illogical ;) for them to move out and be paying a mortgage and either a second mortgage or rent. They continue to live there but they have to keep the place uncluttered and meticulously clean so it's always ready to be shown to its best effect to prospective buyers.

I agree, taxes could also be a huge issue, especially in California. And Connor may have taken a hit in the stock market, too. I just hope the Trinneers are OK, whatever the reason.

Folks, maybe it's just me, but it seems that the talk about CT is getting a bit too focused on the minutiae of his private life...how much money he makes, why he's selling his house, whether he's in the stock market. I don't know many people who would discuss such matters with people they know. And those of you who have followed his career are aware that he guards his privacy, as well he should.

Perhaps it's time to consider stepping back from the man's personal life, and re-focusing on his performances?

I agree with you 100%. Let's leave Connor's private life alone, and get back to talking about what a great actor he is!

You're both right, and I apologize. This is a worship thread, not a gossip thread.

I have been wondering if he turned up again in "24." I downloaded his first appearance on my iTunes, and would like to see if Branny actually delivered on their stated "hope" that he could get more than one episode (in a role in which he could shine" :scream:).

It is natural to be curious about the real life of actors we have grown to love. What better place to do it than with fans who feel the same way. It is a "Connor" thread after all. I know that when I pay $25 for an autograph or $40 for a photo op it is not signed "Trip Tucker". I think it is a tribute that fans think enough about him to be concerned that he is selling his house. A friend informed me last week that he lost his job of 14 years and has his house for sale. It is happening all over the country and is foremost in many people's minds.

I also know that he likes his privacy, but no one here is listing his address or posting overhead shots of his house. We are far from the depths that magazines go to when publishing photo's and information about the stars. It's just concerned fans expressing concern and worrying about someone that means something.

I'm not sorry that I am concerned or curious and I don't know any group of people I would rather talk to about it.

I'm just a bit concerned about public speculation about why he's selling - but it would be fine by pm. While he has a public profile, it doesn't automatically include his private life, and all of us would want the same courtesy. To be concerned about his finances is probably over the top for us, when we all must know genuinely needy people. Connor is resourceful, and I'm sure he'll be fine. Maybe he'll tell us one day, but I hope no-one asks him about this in Q and A's !!

Oh, and about this, I didn't notice a reference to 'Carl Gadsen' in the episode following Connor's, but I believe some people heard one. Can anyone tell me when he is mentioned?:vulcan:

I'm waiting to the end for Branny to deliver, but it seems unlikely a port caretaker would influence the outcome too much - thanks for the valentine guys!

If I remember correct they mentioned "a security guard" (not by name) but you get the idea that they are talking about Carl.:)

here the transcript of the connor's Q&A in vancouver

    thank you to Gateworld forum.

"We got a nice mix of Stargate and Enterprise questions for Connor.

I missed writing down the first question asked of Connor due to taking photos but it was on the lines of the differences of working on SGA and Enterprise. Part of his response to it that I did write down was a tongue in cheek comment by him that he didn’t wear enough clothes on Enterprise!

    Q. What was your most memorable moment on SGA?

“Being choked by an alien under water.”

He said this scene was being filmed in a ‘swamp’ that was made up on the set using mud and “goodness knows what!” to create it. It was then left over the weekend in warm weather. It was not a good thing to be greeted with on Monday morning! He was asked to go into it for the next scene he had to shoot and he refused saying “you do it!” (i think it is an error, i think he was talking about precious cargo and not about SGA)

    Q. Did you dye your hair for Enterprise?

He said he was made blonde for Enterprise, the hair colour he had at the con was his natural colour. He said he’d just turned 40 and says he has some grey hairs too.

    Q. What are you working on now?

He’s doing an audio book biography on Lance Armstrong the cyclist.

He’s also just finished filming a MOW for Sci Fi channel with James Kyson Lee from Heroes. He said “it’s a Hans Solo/Chewbacca type thing,” and thought his part was “great” and added with a sort of wry smile that it’s called ‘Termination Shock’ and featured “giant termites”…tailing off with … “it’s very good.”

    Q. How did you land the role of Michael in SGA audition, and do you know why the name of the character was Michael?

He didn’t know why the character was called Michael.

He said that he didn’t want to be in a Sci Fi show again after Enterprise but he saw the role of Michael and really liked it. He called his agent and said he liked the look of it. His agent called him back to say that TPTB for SGA said “which part do you want?” He was astounded that they wanted him just like that and really thought it would only be for one episode. He was even happier when the character was developed and he went on to make more appearances.

    Q. How do you prepare yourself for a role with emotional aspects?

He said he wasn’t a ‘method actor.

Some things happen that make a scene more poignant, for example the scene in Enterprise with T’Pol and the human/Vulcan baby. He did the scene the same day he found out that his wife was pregnant with their first child and was very emotional as a result of doing that scene. He told Jolene and he started crying and told her not to tell anyone. It was more for the fact that he felt more time was needed to know that everything was alright with the baby and it was going to happen, the first 12 weeks thing.

If tears are needed he said rubbing Vick’s Vapour rub under his eyes just before going on set brings the tears for emotional scenes.

    Q. Do you prefer film or live theatre?

He said TV and theatre are “very different animals.” With TV you jump around the role and arc depending on scheduling of filming for the beginning, middle or end of an episode. Episodes are also filmed in a different order and have chances for retakes. With theatre you have live contact with the audience and you don’t have a chance to do it again.

    Q. Do you prefer the ‘good Trip’ or the ‘evil Michael’?

Enjoyed playing Trip but he did like playing the bad guy. He said that Trip didn’t have the depth of “delicious evil” that Michael had. He smiled and said he didn’t have to dig deeper for the Michael role, pauses and then says… “no, I’m that good!” with a cheeky grin.

    Q. What exactly were you going to do with Teyla’s baby?

He gives a look of earnest caring….“Love it, hold it and raise it to throw a football, or kill everybody!”

    Q. Talking about the babies and pregnancy scene, what preparation did you do for the pregnancy in the episode ‘Unexpected’ on Enterprise?

Connor looked surprised for a moment then said… “I thought you said, rabies and pregnancy scene!” He then went on to say that he asked the directors if he could do extra emotional stuff like crying unexpectedly and eating weird stuff. Really wanted to get into the role but they kept it to the script.

    Q. Was there something you wanted to see on an episode or a story carried on in Enterprise?

He wouldn’t have minded becoming a Captain.

There was talk about bring Kirk or Spock onto Enterprise, that was something he would have liked. He said that he liked the final episode… “It’s about me!” Wouldn’t have minded having Kevin Costner or Jeri Ryan in Enterprise, he gives a wistful gaze at the audience on mentioning Jeri.

    Q. Was it justified to kill Teyla?

He believed Michael had a thing for Teyla.

    Q. Who was your favourite actor and actress in Enterprise and SGA to play alongside?

He enjoyed doing an episode with Greg Henry where they were both stranded and dying on a planet. He was impressed by how he played his part.

He didn’t get to work with David Hewlett much and really liked Joe’s sense of humour.

A question was asked referencing some Fan Fiction written about Tucker not dying but continuing on to become the Captain of a Starship called Endeavour. He was asked if he would like it if it became a ‘sequel’. He said he would like the idea and thought it was “awesome.”

    Q. What is your favourite injury scene?

Connor looked a bit surprised by this question, wondered why fans liked to see the characters injured. He did say that he liked the bit in Enterprise where he ended up with a ‘Captain Pike’ type burn on his face.

    Q. In fight scenes, who was your favourite person to fight?

He said Bam Bam, the stunt co-ordinator is great with fights scenes. He reckoned that Jason Mamoa was the best at fighting.

    Q. What were your funniest moments in SGA?

One time where he had to wear some contacts lenses that limited his vision. He found it funny to be led around by assistants everywhere.

    Q. Are there any other shows that you would like to do?

He really enjoys watching ‘The Sarah Connor Chronicles’, would love to appear in that. He thought a bit more and just threw out ‘American Idol’ and “dancing with the has-beens!” Also ‘Lost’ because that’s in Hawaii!

Sadly the moment came with the ‘Time Up” and he finished off by answering a question about his favourite memory of being on SGA. He thought for a moment and said happily it was…. “when they said we’re probably going to ask you to come back.”"

Hi! I think it is fine for us to be curious about what celebs houses look like... I think that is all anyone on this thread was really doing. As of at least last December, he and his family were still living in the house. The neighborhood is an older one in Hollywood.. and not the safest any longer. It is a gorgeous house tho!

Safety is definitely a very important issue, especially with a toddler. I've got to agree, its a beautiful house, always wondered what sort of taste Connor had, he's definitely not into modernism. Think someone mentioned that the house definitely looked stage for sale, no sign of a three year old, but did anyone notice the animal character poster-type thing on the right of the stairs and also the three red characters on the blue wall in the bedroom. You can never hide all traces of little ones around a house!!:)

Hopping into the salpool to drool over pictures and screencaps (an element of his work), discussing his performances and interviews (also part of his job), and general squeeing about how gorgeous and talented he is? Par for the course for the THUG brigade. :) But notice that it all has to do with his professional life, the part of himself he has chosen to put before the public eye.

Delving into the part of the man's life that he declines to present to the world at large can be crossing a line of propriety. Sure, he's a public figure, and a celebrity. But if he really wanted everyone to know the color scheme of his house's bedrooms, or how much money he has invested in the stock market, he'd be doing a big spread in a gossip magazine with oodles of information and pictures.

I freely admit I may be a little biased when it comes to actor privacy. Like CT, I live in L.A., the land of overly-intrusive paparrazzi and celebrity stalkers and restraining orders. And I'll never, ever forget Rebecca Schaeffer. I'm just saying that it's better to err on the side of caution. I'm suggesting that you respect the man's right to have a private life, even though he is a public figure, and celebrate that part of him that he has graciously chosen to give to the public.
