Will Limited Edition Coins Be Worth Something In The Future?

Ok this is the situation. I hope to collect rare things such as coins now in the hopes that decades down the line my children or perhaps my children's children or so on and so forth will one day be able to sell them as rare collectors items to make big money on them.

Those of you in the UK may be aware of the program Dickinsons real deal where people come along with rare collectable items and they sell for lots of money.
Well i'm hoping that by me buying rare limited edition coins now (and keeping them in their boxes with their certificates in mint condition) i'm sort of "investing" my money for future generations of my family.

So for example i'm looking to start my collection of with these coins for example:

Do you think my buying these limited edition coins and keeping them in mint condition will make future generations of my family rich? or at least help them out with a lot of money when they sell them?

I once obtained a commemorative £5 coin while being given some change while buying a sandwich at University - if I remember it was to celebrate the Queen's 70th birthday. Not sure how much the original cost the previous owner, but it cost me exactly £5. From the shopping till. Best legal tender ever.

As to whether they'll be worth a lot in the future.... I'm not sure, but my advice would be to try waiting about 2000 years before it's really worth something. It worked for the Romans.

On the other hand, these things are rare, but they're not exactly unique - there'll be about 999 others in the world (or whatever number are available in the promotion). You could wait until the other coins like it are lost forever to the Universe too.

You can buy Roman coins for $2-$5 a piece for uncleaned coins on ebay. I have a few hundred.
