Awesome STARCRAFT II gameplay vid with Blizzard commentary

Nice video, about time we saw some more SCII action, the official site hasn't been updated in about half a year.

Really, it's confirmed for 2009 now? Seeing none of the units are confirmed yet, the game was split in three, meaning the Terran campaign has to be expanded, i find that had to believe. I mean, this is Blizzard - aka "shove WoW down everyone's throats and fuck everything that came before, we're milking THIS cow 'til it falls over dead!" - we're talking about here! So link, pretty please?
 
I'm not really a games player, although I do actually enjoy some RTS games.

The original SC game is often heralded as the greatest game of all time, and so naturally, there is much anticipation of its sequel.

But SCII, I'm not convinced it's going to be as massive a hit, The original has held a very active scene for 10 years now, so it has a lot to live up to. Even pre-launch of SCII, there are criticisms abound on both it's unclear plastic-like graphics and un-intense game play.

I guess we won't know until it arrives. But it would be a sad day for many fans if it does fall short of their rosy expectations.

Nice! Thanks for the link. I was wondering when they'd have another battle report video up.

I wonder why the Terrran player never used any Siege Tanks. I thought they would have been really cool to guard the rear entrance to his base.

I expect some information is deliberately being held back. They may have changed the look of the siege tank from last time and don't want us to see it yet. That's the only good reason I can think of.


Well that, and the fact that this isn't so much a battle report, but blizzard showing off the new units and new abilities, and the tanks might steal the limelight a bit.

but damn! what a great game in that new battle report .... I thought the Zerg player had won it early on ...
 
He essentially did, but that wouldn't have made for a very good video to put on the site. I expect he was told to pull it back a bit to extend the game. Since Terran generally does a bit better in the late-game and scales more with comparable teching, within a few minutes he was pushed back into a losing position due to lack of hi-end tech advancement(specifically: almost no air units).
 
So whilst I'm waiting on my slow connection, has anyone else seen those ads for Civony ripping off AOK's graphics? :lol:
