I'm in. Watched some of the marathon this weekend to catch up.

What other boats will they have besides the Northwestern, Cornelia Marie, Time Bandit, and Wizard?

They've mentioned others somewhat sporadically throughout the series, such as the Maverick and the Aleutian Ballad. I'm really wondering what's going to happen with Captain Phil of the Cornelia Marie, after his close call last season. It's amazing that guy keeps ticking sometimes.

My cousin fishes out of Dutch Harbor and saw him at the airport and got drunk with his kids.

I just watched the behind the scenes show of the photographers.. quite interesting what they do and go through to document the season.

I watched the marathons they had on this weekend and read up all the info on the website. Its my favorite show right now, bar none. Actually, its the only show I make it a point to sit down and watch regularly, at any point in the year.

The new boats are the Trailblazer and the Lisa Marie. Not sure if the latter is at all related to the Cornelia Marie.

We've seen the Trailblazer before. A couple seasons back when a guy fell off the stack of his boat and the Time Bandit rescued him, that was the Trailblazer. It was the "You saved my fuckin' life!" and "Take off your underwear dude!" episode.

I love this show. I'm SO excited it's back! It had seemed so long since the last season ended that I was afraid it wasn't coming back at all. I have a hard time choosing between the Cornelia Marie and the Northwestern as my favorites - I love both the ships and their crews. And then I love the Time Bandit too - ack! They're all great!

I continue to be amazed by the success of this show. As a one-season, limited run, I could see the appeal. I didn't know anything about the industry so it gives you an inside look at how brutal it can be. But I never feel compelled to keep watching it - how many crabs does one need to see?

I continue to be amazed by the success of this show. As a one-season, limited run, I could see the appeal. I didn't know anything about the industry so it gives you an inside look at how brutal it can be. But I never feel compelled to keep watching it - how many crabs does one need to see?

For me, it's the personality of the crews combined with the fact that it is really a dangerous and difficult profession on the best of days. Many of the crews have been doing it for generations, and you have to give up a lot. I was watching some of the behind the scenes stuff recently, and I recall there was one crew member - I think it was one of the Hilstrand boys from the Time Bandit - who'd made the decision to leave the boat, because he wanted to be able to spend time with his family and not be gone most of the year. That was a tough decision for the family because they rely on the new generation to help keep the traditions going.

I live on the other coast, and fishing and crabbing are part of the livelihood for many in my area. It's just a bit safer. But that's one reason I enjoy the show.

I think the crews are the appeal. I love to see how the season will treat them and how they react. You get attached to the guys, even though you don't know them really. And some of the guys remind me of my family. particularly the Hillstrand boys..lol.

And liek I said, my cousin fishes on a boat out of Dutch, so it gives an idea of what he goes through. Though, he isn't a crabber, as they fish cod and such. Still, he has met most of the crews on the show and that makes it fun.

And what the hell happened to Keith - they didn't even tease what was going on after he got out of the water, just ended it cold, with no preview for next week!

Building suspense, obviously. The Wizard's in a pretty tight spot, I'm not sure how they're going to resolve this one.
