I love this show. I'm SO excited it's back!

I continue to be amazed by the success of this show. As a one-season, limited run, I could see the appeal. I didn't know anything about the industry so it gives you an inside look at how brutal it can be. But I never feel compelled to keep watching it - how many crabs does one need to see?
Could NOT have said it better myself!I continue to be amazed by the success of this show. As a one-season, limited run, I could see the appeal. For me, it's the personality of the crews combined with the fact that it is really a dangerous and difficult profession on the best of days. Many of the crews have been doing it for generations, and you have to give up a lot. I was watching some of the behind the scenes stuff recently, and I recall there was one crew member - I think it was one of the Hilstrand boys from the Time Bandit - who'd made the decision to leave the boat, because he wanted to be able to spend time with his family and not be gone most of the year. That was a tough decision for the family because they rely on the new generation to help keep the traditions going.
