I think with a little bit of reworking, the idea of a Gary Seven series might do well, currently. It could be set either in the original era from the TOS episode or in our times. In the Eugenics wars books, he played a major role with dealing with Kahn. Although not canon, there are some good story ideas. I always thought he would be an interesting character and the potential for stories could be almost limitless.
