The Cougar .. erm, what?

TV Land has a new show debuting called The Cougar.
Stacey's dating experiences have led her to believe that men her age and older live under the pressure of a "ticking clock" that dampens their spontaneity and zest for life. Her personal success is based upon upbeat optimism, and she believes that younger men have a similar spirited tempo, a demeanor that Stacey finds crucial for her future love interest to possess -- a love interest that she plans to find on The Cougar.
It is just as it is supposed to be, a hot woman in her 40's trying to seduce a man quite younger than her. That's not a bad concept, except that I find it quite hard to believe a woman as hot as "Stacey" would have a hard time finding a man. Her having four children already might be a dampener for a few men, but not all of them I am sure? So why go on national TV and make a show about your desperation? SPECIALLY for a woman as hot as that?

We'll see how many of the young idiots go after her daughter instead.

Also, my concept of a "cougar" is a woman much older than this one (at least 50 -- still younger than I) who needs a ton of makeup to look even a year younger.

I read the title and thought it was going to be Kim Bauer's spin-off series.

Why don't the women this is targeted at just buy some porn instead ? It's more honest, at least.

Why do men go on TV begging for a date on the bachelor? How is this any different? Why don't the people who watch that just use porn?

I've never watched The Bachelor. I'm guessing, however, that the selection process probably didn't involve a swimsuit competition or a "rate the girls" section on the website.

Aside from the fact that she's being paid, I can't really see why the so-called "cougar" really needs a reality show to find a guy anyway.

I never watched the Bachelor either, but I find it hard to believe that the women were chosen based on grade point average and scholastic aptitude tests. What I'm saying is, how is this show any different from the bachelor in that regard? It's a meat market with the sexes reversed? Is it more offensive because it's men on parade?

You're thinking of MILF Island, which would be far gutsier since it involves underage boys and would get everyone involved tossed into prison. I'd much rather see that - if you're going to be sleazy, go for it!

I predict shitty ratings and quick cancellation.
A lot of these idiots are actually actors, thinking the exposure will somehow land them on a "real" TV series.

Has that happened, like ever?

Trista and Ryan?

TV Land needs to go back to showing The Beverly Hillbillies and Andy Griffith. Leave this, and their other reality shows to someone else

I hate crap like this. I hate the Bachelor too. In fact, I'm really sick and tired of fucking reality TV shows. I expected better of TV Land.
