What episode(s) do you think you've watched the most?

I think it's Sleeping With the Enemy. I had that on VHS for some reason and would pop it in when I got bored!

One Little Ship, Captive Pursuits, the Jem'Hadar, To the Death, Rocks and Shoals, Hippocratic Oath, Sacrifice of Angels, In Purgatory's Shadow, By Inferno's Light, The Magnificent Ferengi, the Abandoned, Season 5 finale whose name escapes me atm...

Marie, I guessin you like the Jem episodes........just a guess:rommie:

DS9 had 2 of Trek's best badass races. Jems and Cardies

The thing I liked some much about the Jems that they weren't mind-numbed robots. Some rebelled, some killed their Vortas, they all hated the Vortas.
I would have like to have seen the beam out of Garak Worf and company and Ikat'ika take the blame from Deyos-then Ikat'ika drags Deyos into the proceeds to beat him into oblivion.

Nonsense... :shifty:

Yeah, huge fan of the Jem'Hadar... and that's just it- the fact that they're used, the the outside considers them killing machines. But they aren't, and even though they're brains are conditioned for obedience they're still complicated and neat. Vortas suck... no wonder we went through 4 of them. Someone should definitely have taken out Deyos... ugh.

Yeah me and my wife went to see that Trek at the movies when we were dating.

Julia Roberts in that Trek Cat Suit was smokin' and the way she disguised herself and headed for Iowa was too cool.

^^^^ Duet, far and away the most sophisticated ST episode I've ever seen. Extremely well written.

yep. reminds you of colonial/post-colonial history a bit, doesn't it?

I don't think the episode even belongs on Trek, really (though DS9 is another matter altogether). I find the Cardassia-Bajor relationship very interesting.

Civil Defense. It's my fall back episode. When I just want to see a nice stand alone that's not going to get too deep, that's the one. Perfect to watch while unwinding after work. Plus some nice bickering between Dukat and Garak.

yeah, usually attempts to tackle topics like these are pretty ham handed, e.g. in the hands of the prophets, but duet was the rare episode that got it right.

Probably Emissary. Always had the VHS for it as it originally aired and then I've watched it on DVD probably 3 or 4 times.

I'm way overloaded on all the S5-7 episodes because I am eternally fascinated by how Jeffrey Combs always has a million nuances of voice and body language going on in every second of his performances as both Brunt and Weyoun. Knowing Weyoun ain't in S1-3, and only barely in S4 disenheartens me; which is what leads to me overloading on the later seasons and underloading on the early seasons. I've probably watched all the S5-S7 episodes 30 times at least, although I skip the unwatchable crap ones (actually I do that with every season ), like: Chysalis, Prodigal Daugther, Profit and Lace, Resurrection etc. etc.

Yeah, but "To The Death" has one of his best performances as Weyoun, if not the best. I'm watching DS9 for the first time and am only on season 6, so I haven't yet seen that season 7 episode ("Treachery, Faith...") that is apparently his favourite episode and a showcase for Weyoun, but "To The Death" is my favourite episode featuring Combs and one of my favourite episodes overall so far.

That scene where he talks to Odo, with that intensely fake sincerity in his eyes is a thing of beauty. Also one of the few scenes where I relished Odo's performance, which is rare because I usually hate Odo. I give Combs/Weyoun credit for bringing that out of him. Much like De Lancie, I think Combs an actor who elevates the performances of those who must interact with him because he's so charismatic that his charisma is contagious.

To answer the thread topic...like I said I'm only watching DS9 for the first time, but there are a few episodes I loved so much I had to watch them several times - namely "Trials and Tribble-Ations, "The Visitor", "Blood Oath", and the aforementioned "To The Death". I've probably watched "Q-Less" more than most people here (doesn't seem to be very popular around these parts) because I'm such a big Q and Vash fan.

Yup, they took Weyoun on as a recurring character because of his outstanding first performance as Weyoun...and a similar story I believe about his first role on DS9 in Meridian, which along with Quark, is the only thing that makes that episode watchable. I believe I've heard somewhere, probably the DVD extras or something, that JC and RA were old friends from the theatre or what not so it make sense why they act so well together (also excellent together in Treachery, Faith, and the Great River).

I can't say I hate Odo though, he's universally amazing IMO. Although his crude makeup in the first season or two hurts my eyes. How come you usually hate him? :p

Did you take your username from T&T? I just noticed that because I was watching the trailer for it yesterday where it shows the Sisko saying that. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have picked up on that. That's an awesome name to choose from a great line of DS9. :bolian:

Bload Oath is one of my favorites...I especially liked how Jadzia's voice cracked when Kira asked her if she was planning to kill someone. The Visitor was also good.

I don't recall To the Death, and I've probably seen Trials and Tribble-Ations and Q-Less only once or so, so don't remember much about them.

I wish I could join you to watch these for the first time :D

"Duet" is, hands down, the episode I have watched the most. I think about it all the time, especially the monologues. They never reached that level of complexity and sophistication again, although they came close a few times. After that, it is T&T.
