A simple request for all of our wonderful Aussie fans...

Would have been funny if we limited all discussion of the episodes until they screened in Australia - about two years behind the US...

Ha. Yes in the old days movies and alot of TV were about 2 years behind US screenings.

Thank God that has changed..

If I say anything it probably won't be in this forum, as I'd rather post a review on facebook, after I see it. But I'm so looking forward to seeing it on the day it opens ... and then again.

But many movies open here before the USA at the moment.

Have 9 even screened Enterprise season 4 yet? :D

I know they only showed Voyager's 'Endgame' in 2005 hehe.

^ I think they did some back in 2006. But probably at some time like 1am or later. After all it is channel nein after all.

"Star Trek" opens in Australian cinemas on May 7, one day before opening in the United States.
God bless ya and I love all of our Australian friends here but could you do us all a very big favor and NOT review the film until May 8th to give the rest of us a chance to see it and digest it?

I know it will be hard (hell, it would be hard for me) but it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

:)

BTW... you all suck for getting the movie a day early. :p

Stuff the Aussies - Us Kiwis are scheduled for May 7th too. And being three hours ahead of Oz and given I'll most definitely attend the first showing... :p

Seriously? I have to restrain myself from giving my opinion/review? Certainly if it showed to the US first there wouldn't be suggestions Americans wait for everyone else the opportunity to see the movie before offering an opinion/review.

A bit self-absorbed to be honest, given the emphasis on when it opens in the United States.

And yes, I know the US is going to be the big moneymaker for the movie, but anyone here who reads a review is a) still going to see the film regardless and b) still has the ability to restrain themselves from intimate scene-by-scene spoilers if they choose to do so.

Maybe people who dont go to see it when its officially out just dont come and read posts here until they see it. Asking people who have legally seen the movie not to discuss it for you is a bit presumptuous. People shouldnt have to use spoiler code when the movie would already be out...
Eitehr go see the movie or just dont read any threads for 18 hours...

You don't have to, but it would be nice. :)

Yep.

Simple: pure self-interest.
If you haven't figgered it out already, this request is tongue-in-cheek. Don't take it so seriously. :)

My tongue-in-cheek radar is usually more attuned. Opps.

The emoticons and generally silly comments by the OP (me) usually give that away but since your obviously new to the Internet, I'll make sure to prepare a PowerPoint presentation in the future. :bolian:

While we're at it, could people in the UK seeing new Doctor Who before the US not post spoilers in that forum?

No?

Well then, I suppose the responsibility falls on me to simply avoid those threads.

It really is that simple.

This place already has spoiler rules. I think it's 6 months for films and one year for TV shows.

So nobody's allowed to talk about the movie till Xmas! :rommie: Hold your comments till then.

Well, according to board rules, we have to either use spoiler code, or else (the easier option) put a spoiler warning at the top of the thread, so people know not to read that thread.....even after the movie is out legally everywhere.
Or just assume that since this whole forum is about the movie, every thread has spoilers. Cuz otherwise what would the thread be about?

Lots of threads here don't have spoilers, including this one of course.
