"Star Trek" opens in Australian cinemas on May 7, one day before opening in the United States.
God bless ya and I love all of our Australian friends here but could you do us all a very big favor and NOT review the film until May 8th to give the rest of us a chance to see it and digest it?

I know it will be hard (hell, it would be hard for me) but it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

:)

BTW... you all suck for getting the movie a day early. :p

LOL, and people remember - not every-one will see it on opening day :)

(on the one day early thing - i expect it will be more like a few hours when you factor in the time zones).

Nope they're 18 hours a head of me anyway so add a day on top of that. ;)

As far as all people not seeing it on opening weekend... I think it's safe to say that all bets are off as far as holding off beyond the 8th. :)

Lol. Only if everyone on the board agrees not to review it until its Japanese release on May 29th. I'm sure that would go over well. ;)

Also, it's closer to two days earlier, because of the huge time zone difference.

Like I said... you have to draw the line at May 8th.

Why?

Simple: pure self-interest.

Mentioned that already. ;)

actually they could just review it in the spoilers review thread that already exists..

No, not good enough. We need at least 20 new threads within the first 24 hours, in order to taunt people who haven't seen it yet. (All appropriately marked with spoiler warnings, to conform to board rules, of course.)

In fact, I'm thinking about starting a thread titled "How many times should I watch Trek XI before people in North America have the chance to see it once?" :p

I reckon I could go to the cinema as soon as I finish work at 5pm on Thursday and stay for every screening until 9am the next day, when I drift back into work.

Maybe people who dont go to see it when its officially out just dont come and read posts here until they see it. Asking people who have legally seen the movie not to discuss it for you is a bit presumptuous. People shouldnt have to use spoiler code when the movie would already be out...
Eitehr go see the movie or just dont read any threads for 18 hours...

Well, according to board rules, we have to either use spoiler code, or else (the easier option) put a spoiler warning at the top of the thread, so people know not to read that thread.....even after the movie is out legally everywhere.

Because the Americans of TrekBBS routinely afford the rest of the world the same courtesy :)

Well some do, and some don't. But I appreciate those who do and will reciprocate. Any reviews of mine that contain spoilers will go in the spoiler thread only, at least for the first couple of weeks.
