Ropers vs Furly

yeah..I was a big THREES COMPANY fan back in the day. It was moronic fun, but I loved it...UNTIL...the Ropers left for their own show. I was never a Mr. Furly fan. I love Don Knotts, but to me, he was no where the foil that Mr. Roper was...what do you folks think???

I'm a Three's Company fan NOW. I miss moronic fun like that.

I liked them both for different reasons--Roper for his crabby old man schtick and Furley for his slapstick.

I like the Ropers, but Mr. Furley made me laugh more with how goofy he was. Loved his facial expressions when he overheard stuff.

Barely prefer the Ropers, though Furley was hysterical in his own right. But one thing I used to love about Stan Roper was how the actor Norman Fell would crack a joke then look at the camera and laugh. LOL

I liked them both but for entirely different reasons which I guess is a real testament to the humor of Norman Fell and Don Knotts.

Mr. Furley by a long shot. But I love the Ropers, too. I just really love that show. One of the top five sitcoms of all time.

I detested them equally. Fell mugging for the camera and Knotts mugging for the other actors.

I only watched it for Ritter and DeWitt.

Three's Company was amazing in its first two seasons; after that, it seemed to change, falling into a more typical sitcom feel. I still loved it and stuck with it for the characters, though.

I Voted that I love the Ropers and Mister Furley equally. I was sad to see the Ropers go (and upset at how they were tricked and not allowed back when their own show failed), but Don Knotts was great to have around. It's a shame we couldn't have somehow had both.

My favorite episode is when she competes in a flower show and at the last moment Jack warns Mr. Roper that her flowers might have 'pot' plants mixed into the display and he plops a chunck of mud on her display just at the judges are about to see it...great episode...

Oh, I loved Knotts on Andy Griffith. But I though Roper/Mrs. Roper were a great team themselves, and I found Mr. Roper a better 'foil' than Furly for Jack...
