Dude, you lost me where you stated "hardcore" gamers are only relevant on the PC. What planet are you on? "Hardcore" gaming is what dominates all but Nintendo's consoles.

OnLive sounds cool but it just sounds like someone turned Steam into a standalone device.

Well, then why do I own consoles from other firms besides Nintendo? Why did I used to own so many Atari systems and the 1st 2 PlayStations?

These days, 'Hardcore gamer' refers to those people who fit the stereotype of being an obsessive nerd with no life. People playing Halo on XBOX Live don't always fit in that category. In fact, this just gave me an idea for an editorial.

"Hardcore" doesn't mean "obsessive with no life" but rather refers to games that are not casual in nature. Someone who doesn't play games on a very regular basis would have a hard time picking up a Halo. You may find them easy to pick up because you've been gaming for many, many years and still do it frequently. But your average Joe has not and does not, and would be daunted by the initial difficulty of most XBox and Playstation games.

That's an interesting POV. I will include it in the editorial when it's posted tomorrow. RPG & Strategy games can get away with having a steep learning curve but, shooters shouldn't. What can be more simple than pointing a gun at a bad guy and shooting him? Pong?

In the mean time... I explored another local arcade yesterday. This one was much better than last week's arcade.

Nintendo must be making such a killing on the Wii. They've found a way to make mad money just selling the consoles. It's brilliant!

Actually, they only make $6 on the sale of each console. The money comes from the games. licensing and accessories. That being said, everyone else usually takes a loss on the hardware and recoup their investment in game sales. It's been that way since the Atari 2600.

Also, would it interest you if the FTC investigated GameStop?

Oh, and Nintendo finally revealed the last few secret details about Punch-Out!!

Don't worry, the articles are short.
