I think you can tell Fuller is back because suddenly Sylar can do stuff again that we have never seen him do before and do not know how he can do it. We saw this a lot in season one as well. Remember in season one when he was being shot and some how healing without having taken Clair's power, falling off a roof, yet getting up and walking away yet Peter who feel the same distance was all bent in half and dead? Or how about him flying away without having the flight power? Yep, looks like season one Sylar is back.

Above Average minus the Peter/Hiro Nerf Modifier gives us an Average.

    Good Points
    - The Sylar/Danko storyline is interesting. It's good to see Sylar being Sylar again.
    - Limiting this to three two-handed stories was a good idea.
    - Finally, the "good" guys are actually trying to do something about their situation instead of just running.

    Bad Points
    - We could have done without the Tequila business. I'd rather they just skipped past the no money situation like they did with Hiro and Ando.
    - Peter's rant at God was silly. Though, he really should have asked why God frakked up his powers.

The person who said that was using hyperbole, no doubt, but Claire should be able to do some really amazing things. The entire reason most people can't lift a car in normal circumstances is because of the pain, muscles ripping, and so on and so forth. Claire doesn't have to worry about that sort of thing. At all.

The problem, however, is that Claire shouldn't be able to actually improve her physical condition. Any weight training she does will just be "healed" back to normal. At best, she might be able to work on her muscle memory, allowing her to practice things like gymnastics and acrobatics, but it wouldn't go too much faster for her than it would anyone else. She'd simply be able to skip all the safety measures most people take when learning and training.

I also always liked having Monica on the show. With her, Peter, and Hiro's now-dead flame (which, incidently, is why Sylar seems to be so smart now) was a great trio of powers that were similar but vastly different. One could do any physical action that any normal person could do, one could do all the extraordinary things that people with abilities could do, and one could do anything someone could learn to do by reading and studying. I just thought it was a really interesting take on the standard comic book power mimicry.

^Sylar lost Charlie's eidetic memory along with the rest of his acquired powers, except telekinesis, when he was infected with the virus.

Hardly useless. It's in the top 3 powers you can have.

But she's just like Wolverine, can live forever but cant get drunk to pass the time.

I liked this episode, I've liked the whole of the fugitives arc. I am interested in how all this will get sorted out, I mean it's not like just killing that Danko guy would fix it all.

Hayden must be wearing a wig this season. And it's a terrible one.

I don't think this episode's shape shifter had the same power as Candice. Her power was illusion - making you see what she wanted you to see. When she died, we saw who she really was. This week's guy actually changed his whole physical form, so that when he was dead, he remained looking like Sylar.

While this week didn't have the same "shot-in-the-arm" feeling to it that "Cold Snap" had, neither did it dip back into abysmal territory. It's so nice to look forward to Heroes again. :)

^That's exactly it. Candace's ability was telepathic, not physical. She had the ability to make people see whatever she wanted them to, like Matt (and his late father) does. I'm surprised, actually, since I'm fairly certain they said actual shapeshifting was something they would never do.

Yeah, Hayden is wearing a wig. All the hair styling in season two damaged her hair so they are letting it regrow now. Tricia Helfer who played number Six on Battlestar Galatica also had to wear a wig starting midway through season two.

I liked seeing more of Angela, but could have done without Peter's little rant to God---that seemed to come out of nowhere.

I like the business with Sylar and Danko---not sure if HRG really believes it's Sylar.

The part with Claire and Nathan was pretty dull. And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Nathan an alcoholic? Wouldn't drinking like that be a bit risky?

I hope when it's time to kill off Danko that the writers don't have Sylar do it. That'll be too easy.

I want Noah to be the one to finish Danko off so we can get an awesome fight scene. Plus Noah hasn't had much of a chance to kick ass this volume.

Most of the stuff that Sylar did in season 1 was just creative application of telekinesis. Slowing his fall, slowing bullets, and lifting himself.

Either that or Nathan could take him for a little ride in the sky and...OOPS!

Someone here wondered how Sylar was able to talk to Danko from the backseat of his car but disappear the moment Danko turned around. Didn't they know the whole "talk from behind another character but disappear the moment the person turned their head" was a common tv villain trick/cliche? No powers required for that.;)

^^ I assumed it was some kind of telepathic projection, since the car door didn't open and he was just standing up there on the building.

Sad. The ratings CONTINUE to plummet. Last night was 6.32 million. Last week was 6.47 and before that 6.70 and before that 7.15...

Just like Enterprise. By the time they finally started to turn around the direction of the show, they had already bled off 2/3s of their ratings. I don't see Heroes surviving past next season.

I gave this one an Above Average. The return of Fuller and the focus on less storylines has really helped the quality of the show. Sylar is back to being Sylar and Denko has improved greatly from the one-dimensional soldier-type he was at the start of the season. Loved the music choice too.

Claire not being able to get drunk makes sense. Her body constantly recovers so stuff like alcohol shouldn't affect her.

I was so-so on the character but I thought Monica's power was awesome. It's the one I would chose to have.

cute (and ok, cheesy) deleted scene with Nathan & Claire

    http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/video/clips/never-seen-bonus-scene/1074361/

I would have still liked for it to have been included...also it bugs me that Im reading(& not just here) a lot of people who thought this episode was boring. This was to me one of the more interesting eps in a while, I dont get it, (ok it helps that Im a Nathan fangirl & a lot of it centered on him) but still I really thought we needed something like this, these characters need to stop running around like scared chickens & sit down & start talking to each other once in a while!

Hehe, I liked Nathan's Spider-Man pose in that clip.

I do think the group is going to start coming together. With Fuller at the helm and thus Kring's reluctance to have the show progress into a show about heroes (as opposed to origins of people with powers) being dealt with as a result, lots of possibilities exist. Fuller has already shown a willingness to have the characters team up and use their powers intelligently and creativity. The scenes with Angela and Peter are all about finding redemption (Angela) and purpose (Peter).

I mean, even if they just gather every morning at Der Waffle Haus so Angela can dish out precog-gained hero assignments on post-it notes, it'll be a vast improvement over what we've had the last two seasons. I want the show to be about heroes, not aimless chumps.

I'm much more willing to give the show another season now as long as Fuller stays on.

On another note, is Swoozie Kurtz supposed to be Angela's sister? If so (and even if not), what power do you think she'll have assuming she inherited the gene, too?

Also, didn't someone on the show recently state that the gene is passed down from the mother's side? I don't know why I have that impression, but it's nagging at the back of my head. It would explain why Claire has a power (since only her mother had the actual gene), but it doesn't explain why Peter's power was so similar to his father's.
