I don't know if this has been mentioned in some other thread, but CBS has renewed TBBT for two more seasons :bolian:

How many episodes are left of this season? I was only expecting 17, cause that's how many S1 had.

Excellent news about the renewal.

22 is normal for a U.S. broadcast television season.

Great news on the renewal. I'm surprised CBS committed to two years all at once--the show must be doing great for them to dish out that long of a renewal.

They also renewed Two and a Half Men for 3 years.
Here's an article on the renewal http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr...sion/news/e3i43b2ec4937929a508312de6fae91b282

sophomore "Big Bang" has been ordered for two more years, through the 2010-2011 season.

"Men" and "Theory" are the main driving forces behind CBS' ratings success on Monday night this season. With most broadcast series declining, CBS' Monday-night comedy lineup is up 13% in viewers and 11% in 18-49 vs. last season.

Season 1 was shorter than expected because of the writers' strike.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the initial order for Season 2 was 22 episodes, but they ended up upping it to 24, and the current plan is 24. Not 100% sure on that though.

^ I seem to remember that too but I will check my sources and see.

But wonderful news on the renewal! It just wouldn't be the same without my weekly Sheldon/Penny fix.

Penny's 'shields' joke was the show-stopper :guffaw:

I feel it ties with the ending by Sheldon, "Great, now she is jumping on the bed."

It does show that Penny is assimilating to her surroundings. Her resistence is futile.

What I think is a true testament of the show is that they basically reworked the Pilot episode and just made Penny guy #5. It still worked!!

Oh yes it was. Actually it was either that one or Sheldon's, "It's a trap!" I almost choke to death on my dinner when he said it the first time. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath when he said it the fifth time.

Yeah, both those quotes were hilarious. We had to replay each of 'em again. I don't know about the guys, but I'm still a Penny kind of guy.

The end saved the episode for me.
Loved Howard reaction to the girl fight and him holding Leonard back so he would not stop the fight.

Didn't see the news about the renewal. Awesome. Along with How I Met Your Mother, if they had one more decent show they would be unstoppable.

Yes, those 2 were great

As for the new "hot" girl... I'd take Penny any day of the week without second thought :bolian:
Especially if she wears that blue dress

Will the new chick in the building ever be seen again? That is the question.

I had that thought also.
If she becomes a pseudo regular like Howards mom(voice only I know), Penny's ex-boyfriend Kurt or Leslie Winkle then I'll be pleased.
When the show develops satellite characters who pop in and out with some regularity I feel it deepens the show, ala DS9 if you will.
I get as curious to see what Leslie or Kurt is going to be doing tonight as I would be about what Garek was cooking up.

Oh man, what an awesome ep. :D From Penny's shields line, to Sheldon's "It's a trap", to Penny's line about seeing the squid face. That one nearly killed me. :guffaw:
