I'm not really "pro-movie" -- at least not in the way you imply. I have never once said "I think this movie will be great". I do, however, think this film deserves a chance and could potentially be good -- and, conversely, it has the potential of being awful. If you want to call giving this film a chance to succedd OR fail "pro-movie" then go ahead. Just make sure you don't say that I claim the movie "will definitely be good".

I still, however, take umbrage to CRA calling the film "a mess". This film can't be called a mess until we or our peers see it and report back that it is a mess. To call a film a mess is a remark on its production values, acting, and directing. The type of film that most people would call "a mess" is the type of film that is universally panned and cannot be enjoyed by the majority of movie-goers. There is no reason to believe yet that this film will not be enjoyable to a majority of people (please note -- I still didn't say it will necessarily be good).

CRA could say "the plot of this film isn't my thing"...that's not the same as saying it is "a mess".

For example, I recently watched the film The English Patient, which won an Oscar award for best picture. I personally didn't care for the film, but I would never call it "a mess" just because I didn't like it.

As for this movie, I am optimistic. I believe it has the potential to be an excellent movie, but I won't know until I watch it and come to my conclusions.

If you think that people whose only necessary qualification by definition ("I honesty believe that a fan could...") can do a professional job of work in an arena for which they have no experience or acquired skills, you are willing to believe very silly things simply to satisfy yourself. There is no help for that.

I'd say "prove me wrong" - but then, the only way you could do that would be by producing a professional piece of scriptwriting worth reading...and you're not going to do that.
